🇵🇭 THE GOLDEN AGE OF PHILIPPINE FOOTBALL COULD STILL BE AHEAD.

Mike Grogan is an Irish-born leadership expert, author and international speaker who has spent more than a decade living and working in the Philippines.

He has worked with more than 100 companies, trained thousands of managers and built a large following through his work around Filipino potential. He is also the author of “7 Reasons Why Filipinos Will Change the World.”

Today, Mike has a personal connection to Manila Montet: his child is part of our Academy where he is showing great potential.

And after spending time around young Filipino players, he has a powerful message about the future of football in the country:

“There’s a great potential here. I think the next 20, 30 years could be the golden age of Filipino football.”

What has surprised him most about Philippine football?

The potential.

For Mike, the future isn't only about the World Cup or major tournaments. It starts in the barangays, communities, futsal courts and football academies where Filipino boys and girls discover the game.

If he had one year to coach the Philippine national team, his first priority would be to bring the players closer to the communities.

Make them more accessible.

Let children see them.

Let them be inspired by them.

Because football grows when a child watches someone play and thinks:

“Maybe I can do that too.” 🇵🇭

This is why creating opportunities for Filipino children matters.

Proud of our little boys to be featured on the Manila Montet’s page! 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩

We recently asked one of the parents in the Manila Montet community:

“What scares you more your child failing in football or giving up on their dreams?”

Their answer was immediate:

“Definitely giving up on their dreams.

Their happiness is more important to me than whether they fail or succeed in football.

I believe football can help them reach their dreams, whether that dream is in football or something else.

I want football to teach them discipline, encourage them to keep pushing forward, and never give up easily.”

And honestly, those words stayed with us.

Because football is full of failure.

You lose games.
You miss penalties.
You make mistakes.
You get rejected.

And this even true when you are Ronaldo or Messi.

You work hard and sometimes things still don't go your way.

But perhaps failure isn't the thing young people should fear the most.

Perhaps the real danger is believing that one failure means they should stop trying.

At Manila Montet, we believe football can be much more than a game.

It can teach young people to keep going.

To get back up.
To work harder.
To believe in themselves.

And to understand that failing at something does not mean their dream is over.

Not every child who plays football will become a professional footballer.

But every child deserves the opportunity to dream.

And if football can help them become more disciplined, more confident, more resilient—and teach them never to give up too easily—then football has already given them something incredibly valuable. 💙🇵🇭

EVERY CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE TO FALL IN LOVE WITH FOOTBALL.

Maybe your child will become a great footballer.
Maybe they won’t.
And honestly, that’s not what matters on day one.

What matters is that they run onto the pitch with a smile.
That they make new friends.
That they learn to believe in themselves.
That they discover the joy of scoring their first goal, making their first pass, or simply being part of a team.

At Manila Montet, we don’t believe a child should ever feel that they are “not good enough” to play football.

Some children are fast.

THEY KEEP COMING BACK. 💙⚽

Last week, Manila Montet Academy welcomed a record number of children on the pitch. And we also reached a record number of members.

For us, that means much more than numbers. It tells us that children are enjoying their time at the Academy. That they are coming back. That they are making friends, building confidence and, most importantly, having fun while learning football.

And we believe a big part of that comes down to our coaching staff. Our coaches are not only there to make better footballers. They are there to make children love the game.

To encourage them.
To teach them.
To challenge them.
To make them smile.
And to help them grow both on and off the pitch.

Because a child who enjoys football will want to learn more. And a child who feels confident, supported and welcome will have the opportunity to develop far beyond football.

That is what we are building at Manila Montet Academy. Not simply an academy where children train.
