Young strategists and seasoned grandmasters converged in Bohol for the 4th Sandugo sa Bohol Chess Festival, showcasing skill, discipline, and sportsmanship across divisions.

The tournament drew competitors from across the country on August 8–9, 2026, at the Alturas Mall Activity Center and the Ceremonial Hall of the New Capitol Building, with the Provincial Government of Bohol supporting the event under the leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado.

The tournament gathered young strategists and grandmasters from across the country across the Kiddies, Juniors, Open, and team-event categories to build tactical skills and gain competitive experience.

The champions included Mark Lorenz Tutor of Candijay in the Kiddies 13-Under division, Kristina Concepcion Belano of Calape in the Juniors 18-Under category, National Master Rommel Ganzon of Cebu City in the Open division, and Team Unexpected Chemistry in the Tatluhan Synergy Team Event.

Anchored on the Strategic Governance Roadmap and the sustainable vision of the Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark, this initiative fosters learning, youth leadership, and community engagement through sports excellence.
