EVRFA Referees' Dept conducts Training for Young Aspiring Referees

Shots from Day 1 of the EVRFA Referees' Department Talent Identification & Orientation held last August 8, 2026 at the Leyte Sports Development Center(Grandstand), Tacloban City. In a series of classroom and field sessions, young aspirants will be introduced to the foundations of refereeing and shall prepare them for higher levels of refereeing courses and training. This is the department's approach/attempt towards increasing retention of individuals in the refereeing role within the community.

The EVRFA is in support of initiatives like these and shall continue to advocate for growth in the football community, not only for the players and coaches but also for other stakeholders like our very own referees.

The ๐—”๐—™๐—–-๐—ฃ๐—™๐—™ ๐—– ๐——๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฎ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ in Eastern Visayas officially concluded on June 7, 2026, following weeks of learning, collaboration, and growth.

The journey began with online sessions held from May 18โ€“22, 2026, and continued through intensive face-to-face theoretical and practical activities from May 29-June 7, 2026. Sessions were conducted across various venues, including STEFTI, Bethel International School, the PFF Regional Training Center in Palanog, and the Streetlight Inc. Football Field in Tagpuro. The course culminated with the final examinations and closing activities held at Bethel International School and the PFF Regional Training Center.

The culminating program was led by EVRFA General Secretary Lawrence Tinoc, who delivered the welcome remarks. This was followed by a message from Senior Instructor Coach John Carmona, who commended the participants for their dedication and commitment throughout the course. EVRFA Board Member and former General Secretary Rex Caraballa (2011-2014) also graced the occasion as guest speaker, emphasizing the importance of coach education and football development programs in strengthening the sport and creating more opportunities across the region.

Throughout the course, participants were challenged to learn, reflect, apply, and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required of modern football coaches. More importantly, they strengthened a shared commitment to raising coaching standards and advancing grassroots football development in the region.

Congratulations to all participating coaches for your dedication and perseverance. May the lessons gained throughout this course continue to inspire and guide you as you develop players, strengthen communities, and contribute to the growth of football in Eastern Visayas and beyond. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผโšฝ๏ธ

As part of the ongoing PFF C Diploma Coaching Course, participants engaged in a practical field activity yesterday, May 29, 2026 for their practical session at the PFF Regional Training Facility, where they were divided into two groups and tasked to facilitate training sessions for small groups of players.

The exercise provided coaches with the opportunity to apply coaching principles, session organization, communication, and technical instruction in a real training environment. The players involved in the activity were members of San Jose Football Club, allowing participants to gain valuable hands-on coaching experience under the guidance of the course tutors.
