MECHANICS for Cosplay Competition

Competition will be on September 8, 2013 (Sunday), Araw ng Digos City @ Gaisano Grand Mall Digos. Registration starts at 9:00AM – 11:00AM. Registration fee is Php 200.00.

To avail discount, join the "Teaser Presentation" on August 18, 2013 (Sunday), 1:00 PM @ Gaisano Grand Mall Digos (less Php150.00).

This competition is open to all males and females. No age limit (armour and cloth categories) but anyone below 18 must be registered by a guardian. For kids categroy, participant must be 3-12yrs old and must be registered by a guardian,

Participant’s costume must be part of any of the following: Manga, Tokusatu, Anime, Comic Books, Graphic Novels, Video Games, and Fantasy/Sci-Fi Movies.

Sharp and pointed props are strictly not allowed. All weapons and bladed materials should be for props only. Accessories should be declared upon registration or should be visible with the submitted character reference details for review.

All props should be kept/carried with utmost caution. DCG 2013 organizers will not be held responsible for any injury resulting from a participant’s negligence.

DCG 2013 reserves the right to bar the use of props that is potentially dangerous/harmful. Profanity and rude gestures will not be tolerated. Anyone violating this rule will be automatically disqualified from the competition.

Participants will be individually judged based on the following criteria versus the original details of the character they will be portraying, without bias to their selected character, materials or genre:

30% – Craftsmanship (Quality of construction of the costume)
30% – Characterization (Must be a replica of the original character)
30% – Presentation (Stance, pose, and actions)
10% – Audience Impact

Participants will be given a maximum 3 minutes to catwalk/present on stage (subject to change depending on actual number of participants / registrants). One (1) point deduction will apply every 5 seconds excess in allotted time.

Five (5) judges will select six (6) finalists after all the participants have been presented on the stage. Among the finalists only two (2) winners will be announced as 1st place and 2nd place winner.

Prizes: 1st place – Php 5,000.00
2nd place – Php 2,500.00
3rd place - Php 1,000.00
4th place - Php 800.00
5th place - Php 300.00

Judging will be on the actual event day and awarding of prizes will be at the later part of the event day.
