For Juan Raphael B. Garro, wearing the University of Cebu Webmasters jersey is more than an opportunity to play basketball at the collegiate level. It is a responsibility. It is a privilege and above all, it is a mission.

Known to his teammates and friends as ๐‰๐†๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ณ, the 24 year old guard from Toledo City enters CESAFI Season 2026 carrying the lessons of his journey and a clear purpose for what lies ahead. After experiencing the demands of playing at the collegiate level, Garro is no longer simply chasing a personal dream. His focus is now centered on something bigger than himself.

He wants to help bring a championship back to the University of Cebu.

Standing at 6 '1, Garro brings more than physical presence to the backcourt. He brings patience, basketball intelligence, versatility, and a mindset shaped by years of learning the game. His mission is simple.

Garro's basketball story began when he was just 10 years old.

His father introduced him to the sport, initially giving him something to enjoy and play for fun. But as the years passed, the game slowly became more than a childhood activity.

Basketball became a passion. Through inter barangay competitions, local leagues, and different tournaments, Garro developed the skills and mentality that would eventually prepare him for a much bigger stage. Every game taught him something about discipline. Every challenge tested his confidence. Every opportunity helped him understand what it would take to compete at a higher level.

Those experiences eventually led him to one of the biggest milestones of his basketball journey. Joining the college team of the University of Cebu Webmasters.

For Garro, becoming part of the program was already an achievement worth remembering. It represented the moment when years of playing, learning, and working on his game turned into an opportunity to represent one of Cebu's most respected collegiate basketball programs.

But reaching the team was never meant to be the final destination. For him, it was the beginning of a greater responsibility.

The collegiate game demands more than talent. It demands discipline, accountability, sacrifice, and the ability to remain composed when the pressure becomes intense.

These are the lessons Garro carries with him into another crucial season.

His coaches have taught him the importance of trusting the system and respecting every practice and every game. His teammates have shown him the value of communication, chemistry, and resilience.

Basketball, for Garro, has become a constant reminder that individual talent can only go so far. Winning requires trust. Winning requires sacrifice. Winning requires a group of players willing to fight for something greater than themselves.

That is why his mindset entering CESAFI Season 2026 is focused not only on personal performance but on the success of the entire UC Webmasters squad. His goal is clear.

Garro describes his game as smart, versatile, and controlled, drawing inspiration from the style and approach of Luka Donฤiฤ‡.
His greatest strengths lie in his basketball IQ and all around offensive ability. As a guard, he embraces the responsibility of helping lead the offense, creating opportunities for his teammates, and providing scoring when the moment demands it.

But Garro understands that improvement never stops. Even with confidence in his abilities, he remains focused on developing the parts of his game that can make him more complete. One of his biggest priorities is improving his lateral quickness and on ball defensive speed.

It is a reflection of the mentality he brings into the season. There is always another level to reach. There is always something to improve and there is always more work to be done.

His basketball idol, Paul George, represents the kind of mindset Garro admires. For him, talent alone is never enough. Skill must be matched by discipline, consistency, and the willingness to improve every single day. That philosophy continues to guide his own journey.

When asked what wearing the UC Webmasters jersey means to him, Garro's answer was simple but powerful. Gratitude. Respect. Humility.

Three words that reveal the foundation of how he approaches his role. Gratitude for the opportunity to represent the University of Cebu.

Respect for the program, the coaches, the teammates, and the people who helped him reach this stage. Humility in knowing that no matter how far he has come, there is still work left to do.
These values are especially important as Garro enters a season filled with expectations. The UC Webmasters are not simply stepping onto the court to participate.

They are stepping onto the court with the goal of winning and Garro is ready to embrace his role in that mission.

For Garro, CESAFI Season 2026 is about more than statistics or individual recognition. It is about giving everything to the team.
He wants to perform at his highest level in every game, continue improving, and represent the University of Cebu with pride. His personal ambition is directly connected to the team's ambition.
To win the championship. He believes the path toward that goal requires discipline, trust, and an unwavering commitment to one another.

The Webmasters must stay together through every challenge. They must work hard. They must trust each other and when the game becomes difficult, they must continue fighting until the final buzzer.

Garro understands that championships are not won through talent alone. They are built through preparation, sacrifice, and the willingness to keep going when everything becomes exhausting.

That is exactly the mindset that motivates him during difficult training sessions. When the work becomes demanding, he remembers his goals. He remembers his love for basketball. He remembers the people who believe in him and he remembers his responsibility to the team.

Because for Garro, champions are not created when things are easy. They are created when the work becomes difficult and the player chooses not to stop.

Behind Garro's journey is a family that has continued to believe in his dream.

His parents and loved ones have supported him through the sacrifices that come with pursuing basketball. Their encouragement has remained one of the strongest forces behind his determination to succeed.

Garro carries that support with him every time he steps onto the court. His dream is not only to become a successful athlete but also a successful student and individual who can make his family proud.

As a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration student majoring in Marketing Management, he is also building a future beyond basketball. His interest in business and communication reflects his desire to prepare himself for opportunities both inside and outside sports.

Five to ten years from now, he hopes to be competing at a high level or working in the world of sports and business.
Whatever path he takes, his purpose remains the same. To succeed. To grow and to make the people who believed in him proud.

Away from the noise of basketball, Garro is someone who prefers quiet moments and keeping to himself.

He enjoys watching movies, listening to rap music, spending time with family and close friends, and taking every opportunity to get some well deserved rest.

But once he steps onto the basketball court, that quiet personality transforms. There is a mission waiting. There is a team depending on him and there is a jersey that represents something bigger than one player.

Juan Raphael Garro is entering CESAFI Season 2026 with gratitude for the journey that brought him here and determination for the challenge ahead.

He knows what the UC Webmasters jersey represents. He knows what the team is fighting for and he knows what he must do.

For JGarrz, the mission is no longer simply about becoming part of the UC Webmasters. He has already achieved that dream. Now, he wants to help write the next chapter and when the final buzzer sounds, Juan Raphael Garro wants to know that he gave everything he had for the name on the front of his jersey.

Because for JGarrz, this season is about more than basketball. It is about gratitude. It is about responsibility and it is about chasing glory for the University of Cebu Webmasters.

People will talk. Doubters will doubt. Distractions will come. But your job is simple: keep working, keep believing, and keep moving forward.

You donโ€™t need to prove yourself to everyone. Let your discipline speak. Let your performance answer. Let your results make the noise.

Stay focused on the vision. Trust the process. Embrace the grind.

Eyes on the goal. Mind on the mission. No distractions. No excuses. Just work.

Hometown: Hinundayan, Southern Leyte

The 6-foot wing from Southern Leyte is ready to defend, slash, rebound and leave everything on the floor in CESAFI Season 2026

For Joshua J. โ€œSabandoiโ€ Sabando, basketball is more than a gameโ€”it is his passport to success.

Coming from Hinundayan, Southern Leyte, the 21-year-old UC Webmasters standout carries with him a basketball pedigree built at home, a dream forged on provincial courts, and a burning desire to help his family through the sport he has loved since childhood. At 6-foot, Sabando brings a versatile skill set to the Webmastersโ€™ rotation, capable of making an impact as a scorer, slasher, rebounder and defensive stopper.

Now wearing No. 5, Sabando is stepping onto the bigger stage of CESAFI Season 2026 with one target firmly planted in his sights: the championship trophy.

โ€œKiller instinct and teamwork.โ€

For Sabando, those are the ingredients the Webmasters need to make a deep postseason run.

Sabando's basketball journey started when he was just seven years old, introduced to the sport by his father, Edwin, who was a known player in their municipality. His grandfather and uncle also played important roles in shaping his love for the game.

Basketball was not simply a pastime in the Sabando householdโ€”it was part of the family DNA.

He began competing in public-school basketball in Southern Leyte before testing his mettle in open and intertown leagues, experiences that helped develop the toughness and competitive edge he now brings to the collegiate hardwood.

But making the jump from the provincial scene to Cebu's highly competitive collegiate basketball landscape meant taking his game to another level.
For Sabando, earning a spot with the University of Cebu Webmasters became his biggest basketball achievement to date.

One of the most meaningful chapters in Sabando's basketball story involves Ricofer Sordilla.

Back in 2023, while Sabando was still connected with the UC Baby Webmasters, he watched Sordilla's games and looked up to him. Now, Sabando has the opportunity to share the court with the player he once admired from the stands.

That journeyโ€”from watching his idol play to becoming his teammateโ€”is a reminder of how quickly the basketball dream can evolve when a player stays locked in and keeps working.
His greatest inspirations, however, remain closer to home: his grandfather, father and uncle, the people who helped put the basketball in his hands in the first place.

Sabando isn't looking to make noise by simply filling up the stat sheet.
His game is built around shooting, attacking the basket, rebounding and defenseโ€”a combination that allows him to contribute on both ends of the floor.

He understands that basketball is a possession-by-possession battle.

A hard closeout.

A hustle rebound.

A timely cut.

A defensive rotation.

A second-chance opportunity.

A sprint in transition.

Those little plays can swing momentum, and Sabando wants to be the type of player who brings energy whenever he checks into the game.

His contribution also extends beyond the box score. He wants to encourage his teammates on the floor while remaining willing to listen and learn from his coaches and teammates away from the action.UC head coach Atty. Kern A. Sesante has particularly influenced him to remain focused throughout the game.

๐†๐‘๐€๐“๐ˆ๐“๐”๐ƒ๐„. ๐‘๐„๐’๐๐„๐‚๐“. ๐‡๐”๐Œ๐ˆ๐‹๐ˆ๐“๐˜.

For Sabando, wearing the blue-and-gold UC jersey carries a deeper meaning.
Gratitude. Respect. Humility. These three values define what being a Webmaster means to him.

UC is especially meaningful because it is also his mother, Paz J Sabando, alma mater. For Sabando, playing for the Webmasters is therefore more than representing a schoolโ€”it is carrying a family connection while building a name of his own.

As a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management student, he is also learning another important skill: balance.

He chose his course because of his interest in cooking and cleaning, proving that his life extends beyond basketball and that the discipline required in the classroom is just as important as the discipline demanded on the hardwood.

When the grind gets tougher, Sabando knows exactly where to draw his motivation.

His mother Paz

Even from afar, his family continues to support his basketball journey, often following his games through social media livestreams. Their presence may not always be physically courtside, but Sabando feels their support every time he steps onto the floor.

His mother's sacrifices, in particular, fuel his determination to keep pushing through difficult practices, pressure situations and adversity.

His dream goes beyond becoming a successful basketball player.

He wants to finish his degree, build a successful life and eventually repay his mother's sacrifices.

That is why every possession carries weight.

Every practice matters.

Every minute on the floor is an opportunity.

The mission is clear for Sabando entering CESAFI Season 2026.

Win the championship.

But he knows banners aren't won by one player.

It takes five players moving as one, a bench ready to bring energy, coaches demanding ex*****on, and a locker room willing to sacrifice individual numbers for the greater goal.

Sabando believes the Webmasters need focus, teamwork and killer instinct to make their championship push.

And he is ready to embrace whatever role the team needs.

Whether it means knocking down a jumper, attacking the lane, crashing the boards, picking up an opponent defensively or simply bringing energy from the bench, Sabando wants to make his presence felt.

Beyond basketball, Sabando dreams of becoming a successful athlete and building a better future for his family.

He describes basketball as his โ€œpassport to successโ€โ€”a vehicle that can help him reach his dreams while giving him the opportunity to give back to the people who believed in him.

From the courts of Hinundayan to the bright lights of Cebu collegiate basketball, Sabando has already made the biggest transition of his young career.

Now comes the next test.

The competition will be tougher. The possessions will matter more. The margins will be thinner. The pressure will rise.

But the kid from Southern Leyte isn't backing down.

He's ready to lace up, lock in and compete.

Because for Joshua Sabando, CESAFI Season 2026 isn't simply another basketball season.

It's another possession in the bigger game of his life.

And this time, he's playing for a championshipโ€”and for the family that helped him get there.

Hometown: Siquijor, Siquijor

For John Jasper โ€œJJโ€ Lumingkit, choosing a university was never simply about finding a basketball program where he could play. He was looking for a place that would see him as more than an athleteโ€”a university that would value what he could contribute on the hardwood while also investing in the person he would become long after his playing days are over.

That was what drew the 6-foot-4 power forward from Siquijor to the University of Cebu Webmasters.

Lumingkit was impressed not only by UCโ€™s proud basketball tradition, but also by its strong academic programs and the support it provides to its student-athletes under the leadership of Athletics Director Jessica โ€œJijiโ€ Honoridez and UC President Atty. Augusto W. Go.

โ€œI chose the University of Cebu because of its strong academic programs and its support for student-athletes. I wanted to study in an environment where I could pursue my education while continuing to develop as a basketball player.โ€

For Lumingkit, that balance is crucial.

He was also inspired by the journey of his head coach, Atty. Kenneth Kernn Atilano Sesante, who was once a student-athlete and the success stories of former UC student-athletes who have gone on to build meaningful careers after their varsity years. Seeing athletes transition from competing for the university to establishing themselves professionally gave him another reason to believe that UC could prepare him not only for the demands of collegiate basketball, but also for life beyond the court.

Because while the hardwood is where he competes today, Lumingkit knows that his biggest game is also being played beyond the basketball court.

He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management, a degree he chose because of his interest in business, communication, and understanding how products and ideas connect with people. He believes the knowledge and skills he gains from the program can become valuable foundations for his future career, whether in business, sports, or both.

For Lumingkit, becoming a UC Webmaster is therefore more than earning a spot on a basketball roster.

It is an opportunity to compete, earn an education, develop character, and prepare for the day when his collegiate playing career eventually reaches its final buzzer.

The jersey may have an expiration date. The education and lessons he takes with him do not.

Lumingkit understands that collegiate basketball is a chapterโ€”not the entire book.

The 22-year-old began playing basketball at 12, initially taking the sport up for fun with friends before developing a deeper passion for the game. He eventually competed in inter-barangay leagues, local tournaments and other competitions, experiences that helped prepare him for the higher level of play in CESAFI.

Now, wearing the blue and gold, he is taking on a bigger challenge.
On the court, Lumingkit brings size, defensive intensity and energy as a power forward. He models aspects of his game after Jrue Holiday, particularly his defensive mentality, while continuing to work on his shooting to become a more complete player.

But UC's value to him goes beyond what happens between the opening tip and final buzzer.

It gives him the chance to compete at a higher level without sacrificing the education that will shape his life after basketball.

Lumingkit's approach mirrors the mindset of a player who understands that careers are built possession by possession.
His coaches have taught him discipline, preparation and the importance of trusting the process. His teammates have taught him communication, sacrifice and the value of playing for one another.
Those lessons extend beyond basketball.

Every practice builds character.

Every game develops composure.

Every academic challenge prepares him for another kind of competition.

And every opportunity to wear the UC jersey comes with responsibility.

For Lumingkit, that jersey represents โ€œgratitude, respect and humility.โ€

It is a mindset that reflects his appreciation for a university that allows him to chase two goals at once: compete as an athlete and prepare as a professional.

Still, Lumingkit isn't taking his eyes off the immediate assignment.
CESAFI Season 2026.

His personal goal is to become a better and more consistent player and contribute whenever the Webmasters need him.

But the team objective is far bigger.

A CESAFI championship.

For Lumingkit, the formula requires discipline, communication, consistency, trust in the system and sacrifice. Most importantly, the Webmasters have to play as one.

He is ready to do whatever role the coaching staff asks of himโ€”whether that means bringing defensive pressure, supplying energy, making the extra pass, battling for rebounds or doing the work that doesn't always make the highlight reel.

That is the kind of player he wants to be.

Not necessarily the loudest.

Not necessarily the player with the biggest numbers.

But the one who can be trusted when the game is on the line.

Behind the player is a family that has sacrificed financially, emotionally and physically to keep his basketball journey moving.
Their support fuels Lumingkit to work harder and never take his opportunity for granted.

That is why his ambitions stretch beyond CESAFI.

Five to ten years from now, he wants a stable career, financial independence and, above all, to make his family proud.

For now, though, there is a season to play.

A championship to chase.

A role to earn.

A game to impact.

And a future to build.

Lumingkit's story is a reminder that for student-athletes, the scoreboard should never be the only measure of success.
The real victory is leaving the university with something that lasts long after the jersey is hung in the closet.

For JJ Lumingkit, that means giving UC everything he has on the hardwood while making sure he walks away with the education, discipline and experience to win in the next chapter of his life.

Because the final buzzer on basketball may eventually soundโ€”but the future doesn't.

Practice as a team, win as a team. ๐Ÿ€

Individual talent can make you a great player, but team practice makes you a great team. You learn each otherโ€™s strengths, understand each otherโ€™s movements, build trust, and develop the discipline to fight for one goal.

Remember: there is no superstar bigger than the team. Every practice, every drill, every mistake, and every extra effort brings the team closer to winning.

Show up. Work together. Stay humble. Get better together.

Because when game time comes, you donโ€™t play aloneโ€”you play for each other.

Lets go, Webmasters๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ€

Hometown: Cataingan, Masbate

Before the bright lights of the CESAFI hardwood, before the blue-and-gold jersey of the University of Cebu Webmasters, Carlo โ€œCarllโ€ Salgarino was simply a 15-year-old kid learning the game on barangay courts.

There were no elite programs. No long list of prestigious teams on his rรฉsumรฉ.

Just basketball, an uncle who introduced him to the sport, and the hunger to get better.

That humble beginning now stands in sharp contrast to where Salgarino finds himself todayโ€”a 19-year-old, 6-foot-5 center entering the college division as a sophomore and preparing to make his mark in CESAFI Season 2026.

His journey is proof that sometimes, the road to the big stage starts on the smallest courts.

Salgarino played only for barangay teams before entering the University of Cebu program. But when his opportunity came with the UC Main Baby Webmasters, he made sure to capitalize.

He eventually emerged as a force in the high school division and earned a spot in the Mythical Five in 2024, one of the biggest achievements of his young basketball career.

Now, the stakes are higher.

The defenders are bigger. The game is faster. The margin for error is thinner.

And Salgarino knows that his next step will require more than simply carrying the momentum of his high school success.

โ€œMy biggest goal this season is to make people see my true potential and claim this seasonโ€™s championship.โ€

That is the challenge he has set for himself.

Salgarino chose to stay with the University of Cebu despite opportunities to play outside Cebu, remaining with the program that first believed in his potential.

For him, UC is more than a basketball stop.

It is where he believes he can develop both his game and his future.

He chose to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration, driven by his interest in learning more about customs matters. At the same time, he is chasing another dreamโ€”making it to the professional basketball ranks while eventually becoming a customs broker.

On the court, Salgarino describes himself as an agile center, bringing mobility and energy to the paint.

But he is also the first to acknowledge the part of his game that still needs work.

Defense.

For a team with championship aspirations, that could be one of the biggest areas where Salgarino can make his presence feltโ€”not only by scoring or controlling the interior, but by making the dirty plays, protecting the paint and doing the work that may not always show up on the stat sheet.

And his formula for winning is straightforward: โ€œJust trust the teammates and focus on defense.

Salgarino understands that pressure is part of the game.

When training gets tough, he draws motivation from one thing: looking back at how far he has come.

From barangay basketball in Masbate to the Mythical Five.

From a promising high school player to a sophomore in the college division.

Every step has added another layer to his gameโ€”and another reason to keep pushing.

His family, friends and relatives have been part of that journey, but Salgarino also gives credit to himself for continuing to chase the game and trust the process.

Now, he wants to turn individual progress into team success.

He has promised to give everything he can, follow the coaching system and do whatever is needed to help the Webmasters win.

For Salgarino, wearing the UC jersey means being given the platform to prove that the program made the right call in believing in him.

And this season, he wants that belief rewarded.

The Mythical Five recognition may have established Salgarino as one of the players to watch, but he refuses to treat it as the peak of his journey.

The target has moved.

From recognition to contention.

From potential to production.

From being noticed to winning.

His message to the UC community is equally clear: the Webmasters will work hard every game in pursuit of the championship.

For the young center from Masbate, basketball is where he sees his true self.

And now, on a much bigger stage, he gets another chance to show exactly what that means.

The barangay courts were his training ground.

The Mythical Five was a breakthrough.

CESAFI Season 2026 is the next possession.

And Carlo Salgarino intends to play it all the way to the final buzzerโ€”with one prize in mind:

The championship.
