Congratulations to our Born 2016 (10-Under Category) Silay Lokal Football Team for emerging as CHAMPION in the Sinulog sa Tanjay Football Tournament held on July 18, 2026 in Tanjay City!

Our young footballers displayed remarkable teamwork, determination, discipline, and heart as they triumphed over strong teams from San Carlos, Tanjay, Bais, Amian, Dumaguete (Don Bosco), BAM FC (Cebu), and Bato Spartan FC on their way to the championship.

This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, supportive parents, and everyone who continues to believe in the development of grassroots football.

The JVillasin Nationwide Chess Development Tour 2026 continues its mission of inspiring young chess enthusiasts through free training, competition, and character development.

The event will be held on August 1, 2026 (Saturday) at PawnStorm Chess Silay, Taza Onze Café, Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, and is open to 30 participants aged 18 and below.

Every participant will receive free registration, chess training, tournament participation, and lunch. Cash prizes await the Top 10 finishers, promoting excellence and sportsmanship.

This event is conducted in line with the One Chess Movement advocacy of grassroots chess development.

Food and cash prizes are generously sponsored by Philippine Chess Patron Jessie Villasin .

The program is proudly supported by
ONE SILAY Sports , headed by Sports Director Marlon Parreno and Assistant Sports Director Glenn Dacula , together with City Mayor Joedith Gallego, Vice Mayor Tom Ledesma, and the Silay City Council, to help build the next generation of chess champions.

♟️ FREE CHESS TRAINING PROGRAM 2026 ♟️

The City Government of Silay, in partnership with One Silay Sports and Pawnstorm Chess Silay, invites all young aspiring chess players to join the Free Chess Training Program 2026 at Taza Onze, Brgy. Mabulac, Silay City.

This is a great opportunity for kids to learn the fundamentals of chess, sharpen their critical thinking and decision-making skills, and develop discipline, patience, and sportsmanship—all while having fun.

What's up, kids? Come, join, and enjoy the game of the mind! Who knows? You might become the next chess champion someday.

🏐 Volleyball Girls 14-Under Try-Out (Part 2)🏐

We are inviting all aspiring silaynon volleyball players to join/attend the 14-Under Girls Try-Out ( born 2012). Part 2.

📅 Date: July 10, 2026 (Friday)
🕓 Time: 5:00 PM
📍 Venue: Kansilayan Gym

Requirements:
✅ Wear proper sports attire
✅ Bring your own water bottle
✅ Be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled try-out.

📢 ATTENTION EVERYONE!

This is to inform all aspiring participants that the One Silay Sports Try-Out scheduled for tomorrow, July 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM will depend on the weather conditions.

If the weather remains unfavorable until 12:00 noon, the try-out will be postponed, and a new schedule will be announced.
However, if the weather improves, the try-out will proceed as scheduled at 5:00 PM.

The City of Silay proudly celebrates another outstanding young athlete who has showcased her talent on the international stage.

Congratulations to SAMIELLE KHYN HOFILENIA for winning the Gold Medal in Muay Thai – Wai Kru at the 1st IFMA Muay Thai School World Championship 2026 held in Malaysia last June 2026.

Samielle is a proud student of Gaston Memorial Elementary School and a resident of Brgy. Rizal, Silay City. Her remarkable achievement is a testament to her dedication, discipline, and hard work, bringing great honor not only to her family and school but also to the entire Silaynon community.

We encourage all aspiring young volleyball players from Silay City to join and showcase their talent. This activity aims to identify and develop athletes who will represent Silay City in future competitions.
