Manny Pacquiao Undisputed GOAT if he beats Spence as a Huge Underdog at 42?? 🤔
For only the second after the 2008 Delahoya fight which Manny won via 8th round stoppage, Pacquiao will be entering the ring as a huge underdog as he faces the undefeated IBF/WBC unified champion Errol Spence Jr. on August 21, 2021. His other underdog match was against Floyd Mayweather in 2015 which he lost via a unanimous decision.
Despite his spectacular win against then undefeated WBA Champion Keith "One Time" Thurman in 2020 July, Manny is once again seen as a huge underdog going up against Texan Spence. The notion seems to be because of the 11-year age gap and the drastic physical differences.
Sence is 31 (Manny 42),
Spence is 5' 9"½ (Manny 5' 5"½),
Spence has 72" arm reach (Manny 67"),
Spence is a lot bigger and stronger beisdes.
However, the Senator is no strange to being the underog. He was the underdog against Ledwaba in 2001 (whom he knocked out in 6), Barrera in 2003 (he stopped Barrera in 11), Delahoya in 2008 (he stopped DLHY in 😎 and Mayweather in 2015 (Manny lost a UD). Even before his bout with Thurman, he was initialy the underdog. But he came out the favorite as the fight got closer.
Manny has done well as the underdog. However, at 42 against such a huge, talented, skilled, technical, strong, undefeated and favorite guy like Spence, will the Pacman prove the boxing world wrong again??? 🤔
Manny in my opinion already has a case for the greatest ever. But if Manny wins this very dangerous fight at the very end of his already legendary career, he'd have an edge for the Undisputed Greatest Ever debate!
What are your thoughts? 🤔
