The Xavier School Taekwondo Varsity Team is a competitive group of
highly skilled student martial artists who train rigorously in the Korean
martial art of Taekwondo. Formed in 2019, the Xavier School
Taekwondo Varsity Team has since competed in numerous individual
or team competitions at the inter-school, local, and national levels. Aligned with Xavier
School's core values of competence, culture,
compassion,
conscience, character, and community, the Xavier School Taekwondo
Varsity Team aims to develop the athlete's martial arts skills, physical
and mental toughness, discipline, and sportsmanship. Since 2019, the Xavier School Taekwondo Varsity Team has
achieved a total of 38 gold, 25 silver, and 45 bronze medals and
bagged the overall champion for Kyorugi and Poomsae in the 2019
PRADA Taekwondo Championships. The Xavier School Taekwondo Varsity program likewise successfully
developed some of its players and became part of the Philippine
Taekwondo Association's (PTA) elite programs, namely the
Taekwondo Black Belter Brotherhood Jr (TBB Jr.) and Philippine
Taekwondo Contingent (PTC). The PTC and TBB programs serve as
the breeding ground for future Taekwondo National Team players,
Olympians, and international medalists.
