Men's Mental Health Awareness Month
I feel you guys,
Honestly, I came to the Powerlifting World not because I wanted to be strong,
Or to dominate, make a statement, or be complimented,
But simply, I'm just sad.
And I looked for something different where I could overcome the pressure I've endured.
Before I turned 20, it was the dark phase of my life.
Family issues brought me to my knees, and I went through a minor depression stage that almost made me suicidal.
I have no idea how to overcome the sadness I've been through.
There was no social media at that time.
And then a page from a Bodybuilding magazine caught my attention: "Powerlifting".
That kind of feeling led me to my coach,
Since then,
I found a supporting cast,
People who believed in me,
People who supported me,
Each grind makes you feel so alive,
Each goal makes you feel you have a purpose,
Each contest was a celebration,
Each victory was a gift,
And the happiest moment continues...
It's OK not to be OK.
And sometimes, not being OK makes you realize the best options life could offer.
