RIP Sir Joji.Thank you for sharing your passion and kindness to our chess community. Our prayer and condolences to your familyπŸ™.

Message from the Camiling Chess Club

It is with overwhelming grief and sadness that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved Vice President, Sir Joji Cabatic. This loss is profound, and words cannot fully express the void his departure leaves in our hearts and in our community.

Sir Joji was more than just a leader in our clubβ€”he was a guiding light, a mentor, and a friend to many of us. His unwavering dedication to the game of chess, his warm smile, and his unselfish commitment to nurturing both new and seasoned players were unmatched. His passion inspired us all, and his kindness brought joy and strength to our chess family.

As we come to terms with this heartbreaking news, let us find solace in the cherished moments we shared with Sir Joji. Let us remember the laughter, the lessons, and the lasting impact of his presence among us. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones. May they find peace and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Sir Joji. You will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. We will carry forward the legacy you left behind, forever grateful for having had you in our lives. πŸ™πŸΌβ€οΈβ™ŸοΈ

π—›π—’π— π—˜π—₯𝗨𝗑 π—¦π˜π—Όπ—Ώπ—Άπ—²π˜€ | The Unseen Knight Behind Every Move

In the world of chess, where every move carries weight and strategy reigns supreme, there's often an unseen force driving the players forward – the courage to take the risk and the unwavering support of loved ones.

Francis Kim Malong, a third-year college student at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), finds this force in her experiences as a chess player in a very long time.

Since her elementary days, Francis has found a strong foundation of support and joy in the realm of chess pieces on the board. With her passion, experiences, and loved ones by her side, she ventured into the world of competitive chess. Her father, which is one of her pillar of strength and source of inspiration was a silent guardian guiding her every move through victories and defeats.

Enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Economics program at TAU, Francis excelled not only in academics but also on the chessboard. Joining the TAU Chess Team further improves her skills, providing her with a platform to showcase her talent and dedication.

In the recently concluded State University College (SUC) III chess tournament, Kim emerged as a beacon of hope in the women's division. Malong showcased her prowess by emerging victorious in the women's division. Despite encountering a setback with a single loss in the final round, she secured her place as the Gold Medalist in the women's division for Board 2.

Reflecting on her journey, she acknowledges the importance of having a resilient mindset that doesn't give up easily and views playing as both a game and an integral aspect of herself. She said β€œLife is also like a game. Sometimes it doesn't matter if I win or lose. As long as I feel the pleasure of taking the risk, I am on it. It's about enjoying the game. But as time passes I have also realized that my passion, loved ones, and experiences have come together as my driving force. It forms the idea that as I have the courage to face any challenge, I want to aim for a target, which is to win" she expressed.

As Kim continues to pursue her passion for chess and academics, her story serves as a reminder that as long as you're alive, there's always an opportunity to come in your way.

β€œI'm grateful to all those who have supported me – my family, friends, the entire TAU team and especially to God.” Kim expressed.

In the game of life, with herself and loved ones as her steadfast ally, she moves forward with confidence, ready to conquer whatever challenges lie ahead.
