𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗝𝗿., better known as “𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵,” continues to prove that true leadership is measured not only by victories, but by the consistency of showing up, inspiring others, and delivering when it matters most.

A 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 from the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 – 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗡𝗨-𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗕𝗘), Patch first captained the NU-CAPSBE Men’s Volleyball Team to three consecutive NUlympics championships, while earning three consecutive Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards—an achievement that speaks not of a single great season, but of sustained excellence.

This season, wearing a different responsibility as 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 in the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟰, he led the team to a long-awaited redemption, reclaiming the championship after falling short the previous season. And as if history enjoys repeating itself, the tournament concluded the same way it often does—with 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 being named the 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗩𝗣.

Some call it talent. Others call it luck. But when excellence is repeated over and over again, it is no longer coincidence—it is character, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to the process.

“𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙏𝙍𝙄𝙊 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙏𝙐𝙍𝙉𝙀𝘿 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙈𝙋𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎𝙃𝙄𝙋𝙎 𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙊 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝘿𝙄𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉”✨

For three consecutive years, 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼, 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 “𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵” 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗝𝗿., and 𝗝𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗼𝗮𝗻 stood at the heart of the 𝗡𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 – 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗕𝗘) 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺, leading the squad to an incredible three straight NUlympics Volleyball Championships. Individually, they carved their own names into the tournament’s history—Wella Fernando as a former NUlympics Most Valuable Player, Patch Solaybar as a three-time consecutive NUlympics Most Valuable Player, and Jan Angellico Poyaoan as one of the tournament’s Best Middle Blockers. Together, they became more than decorated athletes—they became the foundation of a championship culture.

This season, the trio once again answered the call, this time representing the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 in the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟰 at 𝗡𝗨 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗮. With the same chemistry, trust, and championship mindset that defined their years in CAPSBE, they helped lead NU Manila to a redemption championship, reclaiming the crown after last season’s heartbreak. Time and time again, they have shown that whenever these three share the same side of the court, they elevate everyone around them and become a combination that is incredibly difficult to stop.
