MECHANICS OF THE GAME
I. TOURNAMENT CONCEPT
The Pulong Sepak Takraw 2026: Battle of the Champions is a competitive Sepak Takraw tournament designed to gather the best qualified local players in Davao City. The tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, physical fitness, and competitive excellence among Dabawenyos.
This tournament is EXCLUSIVELY FOR DAVAO CITY RESIDENTS. All players will undergo a screening process to ensure that only qualified, physically capable, agile, and competitive players will participate.
II. TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team shall consist of:
ā¢ 5 Official Players
ā¢ 1 Coach
ā¢ Maximum: 6 persons per team
Only the 5 registered players are allowed to play on the court.
The coach may be present in the designated team area but shall not interfere with the officials, referees, opposing team, or conduct of the game.
III. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
A. Residency Requirement
1. The tournament is exclusive to bona fide residents of Davao City.
2. Each team must have a Barangay Representation.
3. A team may recruit or āimportā players from other Barangays within Davao City only.
4. Players from outside Davao City are strictly prohibited.
5. Each player must submit proof of Davao City residency, such as a Barangay Certificate of Residency, certified copy of residency from the Barangay where the player currently resides, or other valid residency documents accepted by the Tournament Committee.
6. The Tournament Committee has the authority to verify the authenticity and validity of submitted residency documents.
7. Any player found to have submitted false, fraudulent, or misleading residency information may be disqualified, and the team may be subject to further disciplinary action.
B. Age Requirement
1. Players must be 16 years old and above.
2. Players who are 16 or 17 years old must submit a duly accomplished Parent/Legal Guardian Waiver and Consent Form.
3. NO WAIVER, NO PLAY.
4. A player without the required waiver shall not be allowed to enter or play on the court.
5. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to verify the player's age and supporting documents.
IV. SCREENING AND QUALIFICATION
1. Screening will be conducted by the Tournament Committee and/or designated Technical Committee.
2. The screening will assess physical readiness, agility and movement, Sepak Takraw skills, competitive playing ability, court discipline, and overall suitability for a high-level competitive tournament.
3. Players must demonstrate sufficient agility, coordination, physical readiness, and technical ability to compete safely and competitively.
4. The Tournament Committee shall announce the official screening schedule.
5. Players must attend their assigned screening schedule.
6. Failure to appear at the scheduled screening without an acceptable reason may result in disqualification.
7. The Final List of Qualified Players/Teams will be officially posted on August 18, 2026.
8. The decision of the Tournament Committee and Technical Committee regarding qualification shall be considered final, subject to the tournament's established protest procedures.
V. REGISTRATION
1. NO REGISTRATION FEE shall be collected from qualified participating teams.
2. Registration is subject to submission and verification of all required documents.
3. Each team must submit the Official Team Registration Form, list of 5 players, name of 1 coach, proof of residency of each player, valid identification and/or proof of age, Parent/Guardian Waiver for players aged 16ā17, and other documents required by the Tournament Committee.
4. No player may be substituted or added after the final roster has been approved, except upon approval of the Tournament Committee under exceptional circumstances.
VI. FREE PLAYER BENEFITS
Qualified and officially registered participants shall receive:

ā¢ FREE FOOD/MEALS during designated tournament activities
The distribution schedule, sizes, and availability of jerseys shall be determined by the Tournament Committee.
The free jersey is intended only for officially qualified and registered players and shall not be transferred to unregistered individuals.
VII. GAME FORMAT
1. The tournament shall follow the official Sepak Takraw Regu format and applicable rules adopted by the Tournament Committee.
2. Each team shall field the required number of players on court according to the official Regu rules.
3. The 5 registered players shall form the official team roster and shall be subject to the tournament's substitution and playing regulations.
4. The Tournament Committee shall release the official tournament schedule, brackets, court assignments, and game format before the competition.
