YOUTH RULES! 28–8! THE NEXT GENERATION OUTSHINES THE LEGENDS! 🇵🇭

The Youth Team scored a runaway victory over the Legends Team, 28–8, in the 3rd DG’s Cup: Youth vs. Legends, held on October 1, 2026, at the PEZA Investment and Corporate Center in Pasay City!

Fresh from the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan, GM Daniel Quizon and IM Michael Concio Jr. led the charge alongside FM Ivan Travis Cu, NM Jasper Faeldonia, NM Lorenzo Aron Cantela, and NM Al-basher Buto.

Facing them were Philippine chess greats GM Joey Antonio, GM Darwin Laylo, IM Ronald Dableo, IM Petronia Roca, IM Efren Bagamasbad, and NM Ronan Andrade. While the Youth claimed the victory, the Legends brought experience and a legacy that continues to inspire.

The 3rd DG’s Cup was organized by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), under the leadership of Director General and CEO Tereso O. Panga, in partnership with the EPZA/PEZA Retired Employees Association, with Bayanihan Chess Club as tournament director.
