If you remember the Kobe II wings poster, this one might feel familiar.

For those of us who grew up watching Kobe, those ads were part of being a basketball kid. We saved the photos, wanted the shoes, and imagined ourselves playing in them.

This Cadets player was born in 2009. He wasn’t around for Kobe’s 2007 Manila visit or that campaign. Now he wears Kobe 9s, while a poster from our younger years becomes the inspiration for his own.

That’s what we wanted to capture. A memory from the basketball we grew up with, shared with a generation making their own memories today.

You beat your defender. What happens next?

The help comes over. A teammate becomes available. The lane starts to close. A guard needs to recognize these changes and decide while the play is still developing.

That’s why we give our players opportunities to apply their skills in live situations. Learn when to finish, when to pass, and when to keep the dribble alive. Make mistakes, understand them, and get another chance to make the read.

Through Cadets Developmental Basketball, Enforcers Basketball is building guards who can handle pressure and create opportunities for the team.

An open shot still requires a good decision.

Coach Leo Austria’s reminder goes beyond shooting. It’s about knowing your strengths, reading the defense, and recognizing when a teammate has a better opportunity.

Maturity is knowing when to make the extra pass and when to take responsibility for the shot. Both require confidence and an understanding of what the team needs.

This is part of what we teach at Enforcers Basketball through Cadets Developmental Basketball. We want players to understand why they shoot, why they pass, and how their decisions affect the possession.

The goal is to develop players who can think for themselves and play well with others.

Years later, you may forget the drill. You’ll remember the coach who stayed to help you get it right.

The one who explained the game until you understood it. Held you accountable when your effort slipped. Trusted you with responsibility before you fully trusted yourself.

Coaches are educators beyond the classroom. Through basketball, they teach us how to prepare, accept correction, work with others, and respond when things don’t go our way.

At Enforcers Basketball, we carry that responsibility into Cadets Developmental Basketball. Every session is a chance to teach something a player can use on the court and carry into life.

Happy Teachers’ Day to the coaches and mentors who have invested their time, patience, and knowledge in us. Thank you for lessons we still carry.

Build from the ground up.

Through Cadets Developmental Basketball, the developmental program under Enforcers Basketball, we teach players the fundamentals and help them apply those lessons in competition.

That means taking time to correct footwork, explain a defensive read, and develop better decisions. It also means teaching players to accept feedback, take responsibility, and contribute to a team.

Some players pick things up quickly. Others need more time, more repetitions, and a coach willing to explain it again. Every player deserves the chance to learn.

At Enforcers Basketball, we look beyond who scores the most today. We pay attention to who listens, who keeps working after a mistake, and who starts making better decisions on the court. Those improvements matter, even before they show up on the scoreboard.

That’s the work behind this program. Teaching fundamentals, correcting habits, and helping players understand the game while building the discipline to keep improving.

Young players need a place to learn, compete and get better. That’s what we’re building with Cadets.

Winning matters, but the work should prepare them for more than the next weekend tournament. We want players who understand the game, trust their fundamentals and can make decisions when the play doesn’t go as planned.
