Under Article 44 of Republic Act 9520 (Philippine Cooperative Code) and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) regulations, cooperative officers must complete mandatory training programs provided by the CDA or accredited local training providers within 12 months of assuming office.

Compliance Consequences
Failure to complete the required courses within the prescribed timeframe prevents the issuance of a Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) by the CDA. Without a CGS, the cooperative risks losing its tax exemption privileges with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and operational accreditation.
