Putting in the work, day in and day out. But are you actually making the most out of your training? Here PRO TIPS from IRONMAN Kona World Championship Finisher, Luigi Robles:
1️⃣ Be intentional— Take focused actions and don’t half-ass the workout (go all in). Tune out the distraction and get the job done efficiently.
2️⃣ Be consistent— Showing up and being “present” will go a long way. Be great at being consistent, rather than finishing one big workout then missing out on the others. Be patient and persistent with the process.
3️⃣ Be coachable and know your limits— Lower your ego in training, set challenging but realistic goals, stop comparing yourself with others and stick to your program.
4️⃣ Delayed gratification— when able, don’t always train with all your race gear and equipments. If you can train with heavier, less efficient gear (training wheelset, non carbon-plated shoes), you will have that extra mental edge or extra “gear” when you use your race setup.
5️⃣ Master your recovery and nutrition— it is just as important as the training program. Recovery is where the training gains are absorbed. Nutrition plays a key role in your ability to train, recover, and perform at your best.
