The SWIM IT is a Triathlon race approved personal floatation device. It is allowed to be worn and used in all race distances including Sprint, Olympic, Half and Full distance Triathlon events. Think of it as your bike helmet but for the water. The SWIM it delivers peace of mind and uncompromising performance whether you will need to deploy it in the open water or not. It is designed by Triathletes

to be seamless and it will not restrict a person’s movement when worn nor cause drag in the water. It is safe, race legal, reusable and it definitely saves lives. The SWIM IT easily and comfortably straps on your right leg. If needed, just grab the red “jerk to inflate” tab and give it a sharp pull. The swim safety device life jacket will automatically inflate and float to the surface next to you. Just don the inflated life jacket around your neck and you are safe and ready to race another day. It delivers 17 pounds of floatation when inflated. Take note that deploying the SWIM IT will result in a disqualification in almost all races including USAT/IRONMAN sanctioned events but you will be alive to race another day. It seems to be a fair trade if you ask me.

You would not know if trouble is going to happen in the open water swim leg of a triathlon race. Training cannot guarantee safety. A kick in the head, strong water current, unexpected cramping, sudden shortness of breath and a lot more can happen despite of your strong training foundation.
