The Grass Residences Basketball Association Season 5 Unity Cup 2022-2023 culminated with a spectacular awards night that celebrated the efforts and achievements of the players and teams that participated in the league. The event was held with the full support of the board of trustees, President Catherine Corro and treasurer Elbert Mozo, who were instrumental in the success of the tournament.
The awards night was hosted by Franco Claridad and John Paul Reyes, who kept the audience entertained and engaged throughout the event. The members of the basketball committee, including Milo Almirol, Marlon Pelipel, Edgar Gamboa, Robert Relucio, Julius Flores, Mathew Del Rosario, Edwin De Guzman, Marco Sumo, Raine Gonzalo, Paolo de la Cruz, and Christopher Paciano provided support to ensure the smooth running of the entire season league.
The highlight of the awards night was the announcement of the champion and the 1st runner-up. Sando Republika emerged as the champions of the season, while Eslabon team was the 1st runner-up. The season Most Valuable Player was awarded to Tricky Peromingqn of Saints team, while the finals MVP went to King Importante of Sando Republika. The Mythical five players, who were selected for their outstanding performance throughout the season, were Tricky Peromingqn, Olympio Entico, Sheim Ferrer, David Velvez, and JP Avelino. Keavy Villacorta was named Rookie of the Year for his exceptional talent and skills displayed during his debut season. The sportsmanship award went to Enzo Lozo, who exemplified fair play, teamwork, and respect for the game. The Most Improved Player award was given to Dennis Lava, who made significant progress in his game during the season. Finally, the Defensive Player of the Season was awarded to Buboy Castro, who was an integral part of the defense strategy of his team.

The 5th Season of the Grass Residence Basketball Association in Quezon City was an exciting one, especially with the championship game between Team Sando Republika and Eslabon Alpha Wolves. It was a best-of-three series, but Team Sando Republika showed why they were the favorites by sweeping the finals round.

The game was filled with impressive plays from both teams, but it was the sharp shooting of Avelino and Ferrer from beyond the arc that gave Team Sando Republika the edge. Their consistent 3-pointers not only kept their team ahead in the score but also gave them the momentum to keep going.

Castro was also a standout player for Team Sando Republika, maintaining his sticky defense throughout the game.
