Alp Maritimes Sports is a scuba diving training and charter operation offering a customized approach. It offers training and dive trips to all levels from basic diver to mixed gas technical including instructor certification at all levels. Its top-level international staff is drawn from all major training agencies hence can offer certification of the client's choi
ce. Never the less, the overriding training and operational philosophy is one of DOING IT RIGHT, DIR. Offices are situated in Quebec, Canada but courses are given internationally. The Institute utilizes vessels for training and dive trips; these operate along the St. Lawrence Seaway from the Great Lakes to the Gulf. Wreck and cave diving expeditions are organized to many of the most sought after sites. Keynote Activities:
Certifications; On average, between 75 and 100 recreational certifications over all agencies each year. Instructor Training; A minimum of six Instructor certification courses a year producing at least 50 new instructors. Technical Diving Training: Technical diving courses are a primary area of emphasis. Numerous technical diving courses, from diver to instructor level, are the most important of our actions. Despite offering the full spectrum of courses, paramount are Mixed Gas and Technical Wreck Pe*******on. Training Agency; Alp is part owner of Continental Sub-Aqua Certification (CSAC); this being a scuba training agency registered with CMAS to provide very "location specific" training agency. Liveaboard Cruises; From May to November several live-aboard vessels are engaged in dive/cruise activities in the Thousand Islands and eastern Great Lakes. These all-inclusive cruises have an average of six passengers and a mean duration of four days
Day Boat Charter; During the summer months Alp operates a number of daily charter boats. These offer full service charters, including all dive/deco gases and lunches. All-inclusive packages can be arranged through associates in the hotel and gourmet food sectors. Expeditions; Each year, many expeditions are conducted to remote and challenging dive situations; examples are: Empress of Ireland, Jodrey, A. Doria, Wilkes Barre as well as other major wrecks, and in addition various Caves & Mines, etc. Commercial Diving Operation; The company has undertaken numerous mandates ranging from it’s specialty, the recovery of submerged vessels, aircraft and vehicles to harbor/marina construction/repair. Many projects have been complete turnkey where Alp has overseen the entire operation and in others supplied only the underwater expertise. Clients include insurance companies, yacht owners, governmental agencies others. Product Development and Distribution; In a constant search for new and better dive equipment and systems the firm has been involved in the research and development of several key products. Further it currently is the wholesale distributor of two of these product lines; OxyCheq Technical Dive Equipment and GAP (Gas Absorption Program) computer based advance decompression software. Consulting and Management Services; Due to the many years of diverse corporate and diving experience of company principles the firm has been able to provide a wide spectrum of intellectual property. From financial planning to marketing all the way to direct management we have provided all corporate needs on a fixed time basis. Our legal background has enabled us to provide expert witness consulting services to clients ranging from insurers to governmental agencies such as coroner’s offices.
