From an underdog at Davidson to a name whispered alongside Jordan, Shaq, and Iverson, Stephen Curry’s rise is nothing short of basketball mythology.
Darnell Jackson remembers that 2008 NCAA clash like it was yesterday. Even then, Steph could score without the ball, read the defense, and wear opponents down. But no one could have guessed the scrawny kid who hoisted 16 threes against Kansas would one day redefine the very geometry of the game.
Once fully healthy, Steph unleashed a revolution. The pull-ups from 30 feet, the lightning-fast release, the relentless off-ball movement, he turned close-outs into panic sprints and forever changed how defenses are taught. Jackson says that kind of impact is reserved for the immortals. “You had Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson… Stephen Curry is one of those guys.”
And the résumé matches the reverence: four championships, the only unanimous MVP in NBA history, the all-time three-point king, and finally, the elusive Finals MVP in 2022. He even capped it off with Olympic gold at 36, raining threes to save Team USA against Jokic’s Serbia and Wembanyama’s France.
Steph didn’t just join the legends club, he forced the door open with a shot no one thought was possible… and made it the most dangerous weapon in basketball. 😤
