With the new Halcyon Dive Systems logo came some beautifully face lifted and upgraded stuff. The Tech Shorts for example look outstanding now. You could wear those anywhere :-).

Inevitably, we have still got some items in our stores that bear the original Halcyon logo, which I still very much like, but they have to go so if you are in store have a chat to the good ladies of Tech Asia and they will have a think about some preferential pricing for you😀😀

A month ago it so happened that a place freed up on this trip, and someone snapped it up in a matter of moments.. Now it's happened AGAIN! Best shipwreck collection you will ever see, great company and wonderful liveaboard boat, spanning the October 1st holiday. Any takers? Drop me a line...

Yesterday three people got lucky. At the end of an afternoon that was very stressful for everyone involved, three missing divers were picked up by a Fastcraft heading to Calapan and returned to shore unharmed. Lucky it was because the ability to search was impacted by marginal weather and surface conditions, combined with PG being generally quiet and many boats already being secured somewhere safe and crews gone home. Meaning not that much help available.
I have pointed this out before. We have a system in place to prevent this happening altogether. There are now two monitoring stations in PG, one atop El Galleon, and one very kindly installed by Muimui Estabillo of iConnect high on their tower in Sinandigan.
What that means is that any diver carrying a Gpacer T3 Transmitter who turns it on at the surface will be seen by one or both of these stations, their position will be put online for anybody to see on the Gpacers app, install it on your dive shop phone or wherever, it costs nothing. I am in Manila now and can see exactly where Ruben Maranan is as he goes out for a dive with Asia Divers Angels. On other tests I have seen Anto Steele’s boat as far away as Verde and the Baco’s.
Further to that we have a Telegram group where if anybody activates the Distress signal on one of these Transmitters it will sound an audible alarm to tell you someone is in trouble. Much like a Smartphone telling you there’s a Flood risk. It’s impossible to miss it, regardless where you happen to be. No waiting for the boatmen to realize he has to go home and report, two hours too late.
This technology is cheap security. My question, does anyone want me to stage a demonstration or give presentation on this. I will do it for individual shops who want to understand how to protect themselves or a broader community talk. Those of you good people who are most active in the PG safety Forums, the Pedro Magsino's of the world, perhaps let me know what I can do to help. We might prevent a life ending scenario occurring.
Below, Ruben getting ready for a dive, in real time. Anto Steele Steel on an initial test run, and the transmitters you would need to carry, primarily just on high risk dives.

Eloquent as ever, Jarrod Jablonski highlights some of the many, many features that make the Symbios CCR and system as a whole so special. There's an instructor offer running right now too and if the CCR and and all it's wireless connectivity is out of your sphere at the moment, the Symbios Blue might not be. It's as fine a technical diving computer as you will ever need.

It's getting harder and harder to change my mind that there could be anything better built, better functioning and better looking than one of these. And if you put an Era on a carbon fiber plate you have something really stunning!

Out of nowhere...Limited edition Tern TX's...real limited edition meaning once gone, you can't have one :-)

If you live in Manila you could get your paws on one of these by Monday night. Further afield give us a couple of days to get them out and about.

Plus point, each one sold provides revenue for one of Shearwaters Conservation Partners, Reef Renewal USA, Zibel (operating in Malta), and Ocean Gardener in Bali.

Giev one of our shops a call!

Very much wanted to visit last month and get a feel for something I know very little about. The Camotes Freediving Challenge 2026 ran for several days and the achievements shared with us were spectacular.
In the background and now and then very much justifying its existence was a Suex XJ Goldfinder, in good hands, a sure way to help bring an athlete to the surface when they really needed it. Competition picks up again May 24th-30th with the CMAS World Cup Depth Philippines 2026.

Below videos are assists and rescue from shallow water blackout on athletes coming up from well below 100m.

So we find ourselves overstocked on the Fischer Petrel 3's due to an ordering slip by staff who should know better (Dave 🤣 ). For those CCR divers using this connector, make us an offer and you could have yourself a brand new Petrel 3 for a silly price. Open to all offers. Send a message.
