🌏 What an incredible few days it has been at Lalaguna Villas and LLV Divers!

We currently have guests staying and diving with us from all over the world—including the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and Switzerland. We absolutely love the diversity of our guests, and it perfectly reflects the incredible diversity of diving here in Puerto Galera, the Dive Capital of the Philippines.

Over just the past few days, we’ve covered almost every stage of the diving journey—from Discover Scuba Diving experiences and Open Water courses to Divemaster training. We’re also delighted to welcome Chris back as he takes the next big step in his diving career, completing his PADI Instructor Development Course with Course Director Jamie Morton!

🌊📸 Puerto Galera is ready to take centre stage!

From 16–20 September 2026, the International Underwater Shootout will bring underwater photographers, divers and marine-life enthusiasts together in one of the world’s most biodiverse diving destinations.

With more than 300 participants expected, this prestigious event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Puerto Galera’s extraordinary reefs, marine life and talented local dive community to an international audience.

We’re incredibly proud that Lalaguna Villas has been selected as the Official Host Resort, with the event’s judges, organisers and workshops based here throughout the competition. Together with LLV Divers, we’ll also be providing competitors with fast, convenient access to Puerto Galera’s outstanding dive sites.

🌊🤿 DAY 2 — FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE WATER! 🤿🌊

Yesterday was all about classroom learning. This morning, 47 local dive guides are getting wet and putting the techniques they learned into practice during Day 2 of the Puerto Galera Underwater Shootout Spotter Training.

While the guides develop their specialist underwater spotting skills, the Organizing Committee remains in the classroom, working through the registration and judging procedures required to deliver a successful international competition.

This preparation will ensure that our local dive guides are ready to support the underwater photographers joining us from around the world and help showcase the extraordinary marine life and diving that Puerto Galera has to offer.

A huge thank you to ExperiencePuertoGalera and Vice Mayor Ilagan for this fantastic opportunity to promote Puerto Galera to the international diving community.

🌊📸 PREPARING FOR THE PUERTO GALERA UNDERWATER SHOOTOUT 2026!

Over the next two days, Lalaguna Villas Luxury Dive Resort & Spa is proud to welcome 52 dive guides from resorts across Puerto Galera for the official Underwater Shootout Spotter Training.

Hosted by the Department of Tourism and led by renowned underwater photographer Ram Yoro, the training is designed to prepare Puerto Galera’s dive guides to support competitors, locate our incredible marine life and help showcase the exceptional biodiversity of our world-famous dive destination.

We are also delighted to be hosting the 15 members of the event’s Organizing Committee at the resort. With 67 attendees in total, both of our fully equipped function rooms are being used for this important preparation and training program.

This is all part of the countdown to the Department of Tourism’s Puerto Galera Underwater Shootout 2026, taking place from September 16–20, 2026.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀. 🌊📸

𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗻𝗴 is one of Asia’s most recognized underwater photographers, known for his distinctive lighting style and iconic images that bring a fresh creative perspective to the world beneath the waves.

A 𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿, member of the 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, and ADEX Ambassador of Photography, Aaron’s work has earned international acclaim, including recognition from BBC Wildlife, Al-Thani, and Our World Underwater. In 2020, his image 𝘌𝘯𝘦𝘮𝘺 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 was 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 in the Black & White category of the prestigious Underwater Photographer of the Year competition.

Beyond his photography, Aaron continues to champion ocean conservation, particularly shark protection. He has also remained active in the underwater imaging community, serving as a judge for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘂𝘁 and the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗗𝗣𝗚 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, while continuing his work as an ADEX Ocean Citizen Ambassador.

🤿🌊 A BUSY FEW DAYS AT LLV DIVERS! 🌊🤿

Firstly, huge congratulations to Fer and Yani on completing their PADI Open Water Diver course with PADI Staff Instructor Jha! 🎉

Assisting throughout the course were Bec 1 and Bec 2, gaining more valuable hands-on experience as part of their Divemaster training. Great teamwork and plenty of girl power! 💪🤿

Congratulations also to Dan, who completed his PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course with Jamie. Now he can explore even more underwater while enjoying the thrill of travelling by DPV! 🚀

Then today, it was off to the spectacular Verde Island for Bec 1, Bec 2, James and Dan, expertly guided by Andy.
