This National Heroes Day, the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) joins the nation in honoring the Filipinos whose courage, sacrifice, and dedication helped shape the country we know today.

Declared as a regular non-working holiday, the occasion offers more than a pause from our daily routines. It is a reminder that the values of our heroes, service, courage, love of country, and concern for others remain relevant in the challenges we face today.

Their legacy lives on not only in history books, but also in the everyday acts of people who choose to serve, help, and contribute to their communities.

Organized by PGAS - Sports Development Services, this final round officially closes the series for: Table Tennis, Badminton, and Tennis

CHECKMATE FOR SUCCESS!

The 3-day PSC-NCFP Selection National Chess Championship – Mindanao Leg has officially concluded, bringing together top woodpushers across Mindanao in a battle of tactics, focus, and mastery of the 64 squares!

Hosted by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) through the Sports Development Services (SDS), in partnership with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP), this prestigious event highlighted the remarkable passion and talent of our Mindanaoan chess players.

Congratulations to all the qualifiers, winners, and participants who showcased grit and sportsmanship throughout the tournament!

Thank you to all organizers, arbiters, and sports enthusiasts for making this event a grand success. Onward to empowering AgSurnon youth and strengthening grassroots sports development!

GOLDEN HARVEST IN DAVAO! AGSUR WUSHU TEAM SHINES AT KADAYAWAN 2026!

The AgSur Wushu Team brought home an impressive haul of 3 GOLD and 1 BRONZE medals. The team was hailed as the 2nd Overall Champion at the Kadayawan 2026 Mindanao Invitational Tournament Wushu Sanda, held on August 22 at the LPU Gymnasium in Davao City.

Our young fighters displayed remarkable combat skill, discipline, and power on the platform:
🥇GOLD MEDALISTS
• Brent Kyle Paloa – Youth 15-17 yrs old (56 kg) | San Luis National High School
• John Patrick Palomar – Youth 15-17 yrs old (48 kg) | San Luis National High School
• Apple Jane Tagab – Junior 12-14 yrs old (45 kg) | Afga National High School
🥉BRONZE MEDALIST
• Princess Whayne Osico – Junior 12-14 yrs old (52 kg) | San Luis National High School

A big salute to Coach and Trainer Ronelo Daculo for guiding these young martial artists to success on the Mindanao stage.

The AgSur Wushu Team extends its heartfelt gratitude for the constant support from the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, as well as the proud parents and schools behind every athlete.

Governor Santi Barriga Cane Jr. and the entire province are bursting with pride over this latest victory. Once again, our fighters have proven that the invincible AgSurnon spirit continues to conquer the sports field.

REMINDER: 3rd and 4th Sessions of the Peak Performers: AgSurnon Athletes Friendship Games (Racket Events)

Gear up, qualified AgSurnon athletes! The action continues this week for our Racket Events under the Datu Lipus Makapandong: AgSurnon Athletes Selection—a landmark initiative to build the first-ever comprehensive AgSurnon Athlete's Profile.

Here are the details for the upcoming schedule on August 21 & 22, 2026:
• Table Tennis
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Venue: Sports-Oriented Gym
• Tennis
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Venue: Tennis Court (behind PPIO)
• Badminton
Time: 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Venue: Sports-Oriented Gym

(Note: The final session for these racket events will follow on August 29, 2026).
