Ramon Teshiba Tulfo, Jr. is a legend in Philippine culture and history. He is a giant in Philippine journalism โ after all, his name has become a verb: How many times have we heard โipapa-Tulfo kitaโ?
He drew the publicโs attention with his no-holds-barred approach. He fearlessly reported stories no one else would touch. He was known as the man who wouldnโt hold things back in print, radio, or television.
Until recently, his lifeโs work was his show, โIsumbong mo kay Tulfo,โ which helped the abused or ignored by those in authority. The show continued for decades, on the air in one form or another. He became the voice that spoke for the oppressed, and this was further strengthened by his acts of charity. For Ramon, his unstoppable voice and his generous hands were two sides of the same coin.
Now, his passion for helping others has taken a new form: perhaps not only hope and assistance should be offered, but also a way such that people can rise above their troubles by giving them the means and the tools to help themselves. In so doing, they, too, can help others.
It is in that spirit that RTT Livelihood was born โ because Mon found a way to share his blessings with those with the same passion as he does to improve their lives and the lives of others.
And that is why Mon Tulfo is going strong: his mission is not over. And he is inviting all of you to join him, to make RTT Livelihood a means for many more to live better, and to be better.
