It’s a question worth asking.

Pointe shoes aren't simply something you buy in the correct size. The fit can affect comfort, stability, technique, and the dancer's ability to work safely in the shoes.

Professional pointe shoe fitting requires more than knowing different brands and models. It requires understanding the dancer's feet, technique, training, and what the shoes need to do for that particular dancer.

So, what does professional fitting training actually look like?

Our very own Tchr. Des Peralejo, has undertaken specialized training and professional development in ballet education and pointe shoe fitting, including training through The Shoe Room at Canada's National Ballet School, as well as training with leading pointe shoe manufacturers and experienced fitters, bringing world-class pointe shoe fitting within reach.
