About Us
English Communication/ English as Second Language Tutorial (ESL), Swimming, Sports, Fitness, Wellness, Lifeguarding, Emergency and Water Safety Training, Music and Arts Skills Coaching, Technical Vocational Skills Training and Marketing Services became the foundation of our company. Our founders in the year, 2000 have started honing their skills as freelancers in Music, Voice, Arts, ESL, Caregiving, TESDA Vocational Skills Training, Swimming, and Sports Coaching persistently developing each skill that they have and carefully watching over the steps of their mentors.
Years passed by and one of our mentors’ in English as Second Language (ESL), Call Center, and Marketing, Teacher Icon had our company’s first project in 2005 with Korean and Chinese students as we train, guide, and evaluate the Online English Tutorial lessons of our 250 teachers and call center agents. Since then, we’ve continuously gathered more and more knowledge on our own respected crafts in teaching, coaching, and training thus, we’ve also become recognized as “Best Teachers” in our own previous schools.
Coach A, EMT - Founder/President/CEO and Head Instructor, Coach Athena, R.N., R.M- Founder/Chief Operations and Financial Officer/Assistant Head Instructor and Coach Ron, R.N – Co-Founder/Chief Training Officer (CTO) are all experienced in their specialized crafts. Coach A’s work experiences for more than 15 years had made his teaching and mentoring skills truly undeniable. Through the years, his expertise had leveled up and he’s still patiently continuing to develop more and more skills and knowledge until now because he believes that “Learning doesn’t stop to those who live. It shall only cease on the day a person dies.”
Due to the great love of our President/CEO to our VP/COO and the unconditional friendship shared by our CTO to our couple founders, Coach A and Ron decided to name the school after our COO. For over 15 years of work experience, Coach Athena, our Founder/VP/COO has been weaving milestones of her career life. She had consistently leveled-up in her craft since then from being a Professional Nurse, Private Duty Nurse, Vocal Coach, Band & Solo Singer/Performer, Swim Coach, Technical Vocational Course Skills Trainer, Music & Arts Teacher and an English (ESL) Tutor (Online & home-based) for Koreans, Chinese and Japanese for preschoolers to college students and also to foreign businessmen and women. She was able to complete the recipe of her life when she decided also to study and enter the BPO industry of which her dear beloved sister, business partner, and ESL/Call Center mentor, Teacher Icon had dreamed of her.
Unfortunately, a very sad and unfortunate challenge suddenly got into the picture, her sister had kidney failure. She was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease. This turned their world upside-down and interrupted the growth of their success. However, due to strong determination, love for their family, friends, relatives, and their deep faith in God, the sisters were able to stand up and cope. They’ve regained their family business’ operation ( Grace Note Art, Music, and Sports Studio ) (Barron’s Training and Marketing Inc. ) but were then forced to shut down due to the unexpected death of her sibling in September 2013. And, due to Coach Athena’s endless love for her sister, heaven’s fate and unconditional love and trust between our founders, the right time came and wholeheartedly embracing her sister’s memory and footsteps, with the three (3) founders’ passion shown towards work, teaching and family, Athena Academy was finally born. Truly, Coach Athena is dedicating these in loving memory of her sibling who has always been a great part of her and the school’s success from then until the present.
Meanwhile, the youngest, Coach Ron, R.N, Co-Founder/Chief Training Officer (CMO) also a nurse and a Technical Vocational TESDA Skills Training and Assessor Expert for more than a decade now became connected with different Fitness & Wellness, Therapeutic Massage, SPA Clinic, and Health and Beauty companies and Technical Vocational Schools almost all over the Philippine archipelago. He then founded his own school together with a common close friend but later decided to close it down. After returning from Qatar and experiencing the same defeat which our couple founders had also experienced in the past years, the best friends brought to life their long-time dream and plan of establishing Athena Academy. For our founders, bad weather had resulted in crop failures, but they absolutely believed that it had also fertilized their land.
Our 3 founders who are very dear friends for over a decade now, patiently honed by time, skills, and life experiences managed to complete Teacher Icon’s (Coach Athena’s sister) ultimate dream by establishing The Athena Academy Learning and Training Camp, Inc. in November 2013. Now, they are continuously weaving the parts of Athena Academy and all its other social media platforms and company services, Athena Academy , Athena Academy Sports Recreation and Music School, Athena’s Kitchen, Athena Studios, Athena Academy Wellness Camp Inc, Athena Academy Arts and Music Studio for Events and Entertainment, AthenaGiving Foundation Inc, Athena EMS, Athena Homes and Interiors, Athena Zhop, Athena Retrospect, Athena ESL and E-Learning School and Athena Academy TESDA School. With the help of their dear friends, students, and family members, slowly but surely, they started organizing and completing their e-commerce strategies and platform. The next year, they’re also able to establish a land-based Technical Vocational Training and Review Center. Our founders had all been certified by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are starting to perform their MISSION and strengthened more by their VISION, managed to start their simple walks in English Proficiency (ESL), Hilot (Wellness Massage) NC II and Beauty & Nail Care Services NC II, E-learning, Mobile Training Services. Special classes in Swimming, Lifeguarding, Emergency Medical Services, Boxing, Taekwondo, and other sports, Fitness & Wellness Therapy, Zumba, Water Aerobics, Music Studio, Voice and Instrument lessons, Short Film Video Recording, Original Song Writing, and Recording, Photo and Video Studio, Arts, Dancing & Modeling including Online English (ESL) Tutorial, IELTS and UKVI Review classes finalized the house of the Champ. Other Services like Massage Therapy, SPA, Brazilian Waxing, Health and Beauty, Nail Care, Atlantica Pool Party Services, Lifeguard on Call for Events, First Aid Station Assistance for Events, Emergency Medical Services, Photobooth, Party, and Events Coordinator, Musician for Events and Airport Shuttle and Car Service added color to our Camp.
