Leg 5 was a labor of love. We combined many firsts and lasts into one day: the first speed and lead finals and the last PCI qualifying event.

Both the organizing team and competitors worked extra hard to pull through and give their very best on the day. And we’re happy to announce that it was a momentous learning experience and the foundation for many youth competitions to come 🙏🏻

What an event YWF Leg 5 was!

To recap, Leg 5 was the last PCI qualifier. Podium winners across all PCI qualifier events will be in the running for the National Team Developmental Pool! 🥇🥈🥉Podium finalists from the three events can expect an update on the selection policy and timelines of the DevPool selection in the coming week. 🙏🏻

Meanwhile, Leg 5 was also the first event to feature lead finals and speed finals – but certainly not the last. Who else is stoked about rope climbing now? 🧗💨

A great big thank you to everyone who participated: athletes, spectators, event organisers, and sponsors. We couldn’t have done it without you! 👏🏼

This makes us extremely excited about the future of climbing in the Philippines – it’s looking faster, higher, and more fun than ever. 🥳

See you on the next leg! It’ll be a bouldering event on October 10 at Good Climbs, Eton Centris, Quezon City. Register here: https://tallytop.com/ywf-2026/register/🫡

This is it, climbers!

Leg 5 is just a couple days away. It’ll be a full day event with qualification and final rounds for both speed and top rope/lead, for the U13, U15, U17, and U19 categories – a first for us! 🧗

Please take note of the schedule and venue and spectator guidelines, and do not forget to fill up the gym waiver before the event.

The September 26 Climb Central Manila leg marks the last PCI Youth & Kids Developmental Pool sanctioned-event. 🧗

It is also the first time in this series that competitors can showcase their lead skills, with the U13, U15, U17, and U19 category finals being purely on lead, as well as race each other head on during the first speed finals. 💨

🪢 In preparation for this leg, Climb Central Manila is also offering YWF-exclusive lead classes for competitors! Check out the details in slide 3 of this post.

Ready to take part in climbing history? Last day of sign ups is tomorrow, September 19. ➡️ Register now: https://tallytop.com/ywf-2026/register/

Tough news: Leg 4 is cancelled 😞

Due to the low number of sign-ups, we’ve made the difficult decision not to push through with YWF Leg 4 on Sep. 12 at Climb Anytime, Cagayan de Oro. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, especially for those who were planning on competing in this leg. To participating competitors, parents, and guardians, we emailed you regarding options for refunds and next steps.

We have definitely learned from this experience and will apply those learnings to future events. Our next competition will be on Sep. 26 at Climb Central Manila.

Thanks for understanding 🙏🏻

YWF Leg 3 was a blast — on and off the mats! 🐒

As the first provincial leg in this year’s series, we always look forward to visiting new places, meeting new people, and being just one big climbing family 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Besides the exciting climbs, we also helped ourselves to 🦪unli-talaba 🍗inasal and 🥣batchoy 😋

Thank you to our photographers for capturing these wonderful moments:
