“For with God, nothing shall be impossible.” – Luke 1:37

Baby Dahlia Mirielle T. Cotejo is one of our beneficiaries—and a living testimony of faith, perseverance, and God’s grace.

Diagnosed with Biliary Atresia at just three months old, Dahlia’s journey was one of the most challenging cases we have handled.

Even before leaving for India, the family faced major obstacles—including issues with birth documentation and the absence of passports. But through proper guidance, what seemed impossible was completed in just five days.

When Dahlia arrived at Apollo Hospital, her condition became critical. She developed severe infection, kidney complications, high ammonia levels, continuous bleeding, and Influenza Virus. She remained in the ICU for an extended period, fighting for her life every single day.

At one point, her condition became so critical that an urgent liver transplant was the only option to save her life.

By God’s grace, on March 10, 2025, Dahlia successfully underwent her liver transplant, with her mother as her donor.

Despite the complexity of her case and a hospital bill reaching approximately ₱4 million, Apollo Hospital honored the transplant package and did not ask for any additional payment.

Her transplant cost was supported by the BILD Foundation, while the remaining balance—including airfare and accommodation—was covered by Senator Erwin Tulfo. We also thank the Embassy of India for expediting their medical visa.

Dahlia was the last beneficiary of our previous Fun Run.

To be transparent, the event did not generate enough participants and funds. But we could not allow this to affect Dahlia’s chance to live.

Because of this, we made a decision—to move forward with the mission despite the loss. Around ₱500,000 was personally shouldered just to ensure that the Fun Run would push through and Dahlia’s journey would not be delayed.

This is not just an event for us.
This is a commitment to life.

Today, Dahlia is home—alive, recovering, and a living testimony that God moves through people, through sacrifice, and through unwavering faith.

To everyone who supported, prayed, and stood with us—thank you.

And as we continue this advocacy, we hold on to this truth:

👉 Not every effort is easy
👉 Not every outcome is profitable
👉 But every life saved is worth everything

To God be all the glory 🙏

🌟👶 Calling all Good Samaritans! 🌟👶

As we approach the season of giving, BL2H organization is reaching out to all kind-hearted individuals to join us in spreading joy and hope to our little warriors - the yellow babies battling liver disease. Every year, we come together to celebrate with these precious infants by providing them with essential supplies like milk and diapers. It's a small gesture that makes a huge difference in their lives.

This year, we aim to support 30 babies in need, and with your generous contributions, we can make this goal a reality. Your donations will enable us to purchase the much-needed supplies for these little ones, ensuring they receive the care and comfort they deserve.

In addition to supporting our yellow babies, we also want to extend our celebration to our post LT warriors - the babies who have undergone liver transplants and now have a new lease on life. Your support not only provides for their basic needs but also brings smiles and happiness to their journey.

🙏 Help us make a difference. Together, we can light up the lives of these brave babies and their families. Stay tuned for more details on how you can donate milk and diapers to our cause.

For your convenience, donations can also be made via Shopee and Lazada for direct delivery to our organization. Your kindness will truly make a lasting impact.

Let's come together and create a brighter future for these little fighters. Thank you for being a beacon of hope and compassion. 🌟👶🙏

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." This verse reminds us that through faith and reliance on God, we can find the strength to face challenges and overcome obstacles. It can serve as a source of hope and inspiration during difficult times, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles.

Last October 27, I met the Cruz Family once again after the successful liver transplant of Flynn.

Flynn is one of the beneficiaries of our second Color Run. Although our run did not provide the full amount needed for his transplant as we fell short of our goal due to not reaching the required number of runners, our NGO, Briseis Liver2Hold Organization INC.,never let the family down. We did everything we could to assist them in reaching the transplant goal.

On June 16, they flew to India to Apollo Hospitals Delhi for the liver transplant. We had completed all the necessary preparations for Flynn's transplant.

I want to express my gratitude to the two foundations, Oracle and Bild Foundations, as well as to Congressman Erwin for providing free airfare and accommodations. Also, a special thanks to the BL2H family for their dedication in assisting the Cruz family in India.

Upon their arrival in India, evaluations and work-ups for both the donor and recipient were conducted. Flynn was scheduled for the transplant, but we were waiting for the grant from one foundation, as per their procedures. Apollo Hospital intervened to proceed with the transplant even though the full payment had not been made since Flynn's health was deteriorating due to sepsis affecting his heart function. He underwent the liver transplant on July 29, 2024, with a pacemaker inserted to aid his heartbeat during the operation. Thankfully, the transplant was successful despite the complications.

After 11 days, another complication arose, requiring Flynn to undergo another operation. Following 25 days in the hospital, Flynn was finally discharged after a successful liver transplant. However, he experienced ascites (water in the abdomen) again, and Apollo Hospital worked to identify the cause of this issue. The Cruz Family was initially supposed to return to the Philippines on September 15, but Flynn needed more time in India to address his health concerns, resulting in a rebooking and their victorious return on October 27.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who prayed for Flynn’s health. Above all, the power of prayer to the Almighty God made Flynn's healing possible. Despite the complexities of his condition, particularly the heart problem, the Apollo Hospital team and the family did not give up.

I would like to thank the Apollo Hospital Liver Transplant team led by DrNeerav Goyal for their skillful care and dedication, and our dear group medical director Dr Anupam Sibal for extending assistance to Flynn even when his hospital resources were exhausted. My prayers go out for Apollo Hospital, that they may continue to be a channel of healing under God's grace and guidance.

The moral lesson here is to never tire of being kind to others, as even small acts of kindness can mean the world to someone. The battle was not easy, but overcoming it can inspire others to face their own challenges.

Please continue to support Briseis Liver2Hold Organization Inc. in raising awareness to help more people fighting liver disease. Additionally, kindly support our Color Fun Run BL2H Org Inc Events “Shades of Healing”, as establishing its recognition in the running community will enable us to save more lives from this deadly illness.

Liver Disease Awareness: Understanding Biliary Atresia

Biliary atresia is a rare liver disease that primarily affects newborn babies. This condition occurs when the bile ducts inside or outside the liver are either blocked or absent, leading to problems with bile flow that are crucial for digestion. Biliary atresia is usually diagnosed within the first few weeks to months of a baby's life.

The treatment for biliary atresia often involves a surgical procedure called the Kasai procedure. During the Kasai procedure, the damaged bile ducts are removed, and the small intestine is directly connected to the liver to allow bile to drain properly. This surgery aims to restore bile flow and improve liver function.

However, in some cases, the Kasai procedure may not be successful in restoring normal liver function, and a liver transplant may be necessary. A liver transplant is considered when the liver damage is severe and irreversible. The transplant surgery involves replacing the damaged liver with a healthy liver from a donor, which can provide a new lease on life for the patient.

Life after the Kasai procedure or a liver transplant can vary for each individual. For some, the Kasai procedure may be successful in improving bile flow and liver function, allowing them to lead relatively normal lives with careful monitoring and follow-up care. In cases where a liver transplant is required, post-transplant care and lifelong immunosuppressant medication are essential to prevent rejection and maintain the health of the new liver. With proper medical management, many patients who undergo a liver transplant can experience improved quality of life and long-term survival. Early detection, timely intervention, and ongoing medical support are key factors in managing biliary atresia and its treatment outcomes.
