Stephen Holt’s Finals start has been quiet on the offensive end.
Game 1: 0 PTS in 34 minutes
Game 2: 1 PT in 23 minutes
Coach Tim Cone has always valued Holt for what he brings defensively, not just scoring. But through the first two games, the numbers still raise a fair question.
In Game 1, Roger Pogoy finished with 22 points.
In Game 2, Calvin Oftana bounced back with 31 points and 10 rebounds to help TNT tie the series.
This is not about bashing Holt, because defense is more than just the box score. But in the Finals, when your role is to make things difficult for the other team’s scorers, fans will naturally ask:
Is the defensive impact showing enough so far?
