The Rufous hornbill is a large species of hornbill, locally known as "kalaw" , they are referred by locals as the "clock- of the-mountains" due to its large booming call...The kalaw resides in the mountains of So. Maligligay, Adams Brgys of Pancian and Pasaleng, Pagudgud, within the Kalbario Patapat Natural Park....
If you want to witness them flying or perching on trees, come and visit KPNP's So. Maligligay site in Adams, Ilocos Norte...

On April 23, 2025 a CEPA campaign was conducted at PAMB Building and Information Center...It was participated in by our parrtners frm selected national government agencies, LGUs renewable energy companies, academe and local media..
