What a weekend. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the Pawikans and be part of the inaugural Mati 7s tournament.
We’re incredibly grateful to the PRFU, and to the referees who gave their time to train our assistant referees the day before the competition, then backed it up by officiating a full day in the sun. Thank you as well to our table officials for keeping everything organised and running smoothly throughout the tournament. I believe we even finished ahead of schedule.
To all of the teams who travelled, competed, and played with heart, thank you for helping make this event what it was. To Councilor Paolo "Kuya Pao" Rabat and Sheepy's Surfside Beach Resort thank you for your support in helping arrange the field and make the venue possible.
A very special thank you to doc who planned and organised everything down to the smallest detail. This tournament would not have come together the way it did without you. We also had no idea you could cover 100 metres that quickly.
And to the Mati Pawikans, thank you for the work you’ve put in. You trained hard, gave everything out on the field, and made us extremely proud to be your coaches.
There are so many people behind the scenes who helped make this possible and we’re deeply thankful to all of you. This was a special weekend for rugby in Mati, and we truly believe it is only the beginning. The future of rugby in the Philippines is bright. 🏉❤️
