At a younger age, I have experienced a life away from the city. I have lived a life enjoying what is readily available including nature's bounty with the other kids--weekend river swims became normal, running downhill, extra-ordinary yet risky slides (patiluros or padidit in bisaya) over grassy
areas or with forest litters, tanned by the heat of the sun usually during summer vacation. as a kid, I'm really am into outdoors.
Comes College, I pursued my second course choice, BS Forestry, Engineering was my choice though but i gave it up knowing my math aren't good enough to finish the course and Whooahh!! there are numerous math as well in forestry! I thought of shifting to another course that time however as the interest and passion towards the environment has been fortified by introductory subjects in Forestry, I decided to pursue the course and oh, I was among the top performing students of my batch, hahaha..I graduated and became a registered forester in 2007, a year after my graduation.
Paid employment stage. I came to wonder how could I be more productive, how could I give back to mother earth everything that it has bestowed on me? Well, as simple as this, MAGLAAGA KO! (I should wander!).hehehe. I'm going to show proof I can best help the environment if I wander over its beautiful spots. And, needless to say, I became enthusiastic into trail running, add on to my being an outdoor guy. Thus LAGSIK TRAILMACHINE came to picture, hence the name!! I have been organizing hiking events back in 2008 until 2011, non-profit by nature (kanya-kanya). We only have to contribute for the mandatory expenses during the entire event. In this condition, there really has to be a sufficient personal budget so as to materialize everything that was planned. I decided to take break in 2012 to focus on my personal life--the married man stage, hahaha..Upon my return to the mountains in 2015, I came to realize why should I deprive myself of the passion in the outdoors because financial constraints? I found LAGSIK TRAILMACHINE effective in bridging over my financial in-capabilities. With LAGSIK TRAILMACHINE, I've hosted a number of events in 2016 to present, have scaled the 4th & 5th highest peaks in the Philippines (Mt.Kitanglad and Mt. Kalatungan), have plunged and swam various water bodies in Mindanao and more. I no longer need to pick from my pocket to enjoy outdoors. hehehe, kumikitang kabuyahan!. In return, commensurate of the number of guests that LAGSIK TRAILMACHINE has catered, I plant trees to help mother nature. In so doing, its no longer pure outdoor experience fulfillment on my part, but is now coupled with advocacy towards environmental protection, conservation and preservation. My prayers of peace and harmony between nature enthusiasts and the environment, may they both benefit from each other. Moreover, I pray that writing will become an addition to my passion so that I could readily impart to others what is desired of me. It is with utmost hope that I can soon write not just confined into outdoor alone but of the variety of what the world has offered. LAGSIK TRAILMACHINE ()
