I never stepped into football just to collect victories.
I stepped in to build something that outlives them.
I don’t measure coaching by the medals hanging on a wall.
I measure it by the boy who became more confident, more disciplined, more resilient & eventually, a better person.
Others may count Trophies.
I count GROWTH.
Others chase the scoreboard.
I look at the player behind the score.
Others celebrate the 12mins.
I value everything that happened before and after it.
Because football was never just about teaching them HOW TO PLAY.
It was about teaching them how to stand after losing, how to stay HUMBLE after winning, how to trust the process, and how to keep showing up when nobody is watching.
And maybe that’s why, since 2023
they’re still here.
The faces changed.
The categories changed.
The years passed.
But the core remained.
And now, I see another generation coming through the same door.
That’s when you realize
You were never just coaching a team.
You were planting something.
The medals will eventually lose their shine.
The trophies will eventually gather dust.
But the discipline, brotherhood, confidence, memories, and lessons planted in these young players?
Those travel with them long after football.
So if you ask me what my greatest victory is?
It isn’t a championship.
It’s watching the little boys who once needed guidance grow into players who no longer need to be reminded of what they’ve learned.
That is the trophy I’ll always choose.
