Founded in 1922 as the La Salle Forensics Team, the La Salle Debate Society is one of the oldest and most reputable debating institutions in the world. It has hosted and participated in numerous national and international tournaments, continuously achieving and acquiring awards for the university and the Society. It aims to foster growth among its members, raising them with the philosophy of what

it means to win with honor and to make the game beautiful. It envisions a world where everyone can engage in intellectual discourse and gives them a platform to speak up. La Salle Debate Society has two main flagship events each year, the Lasallian Interschool Training, a debate workshop and seminar for high school students, and the National Asians High School Debate Championship, the country's national Asian Parliamentary debate tournament for high school students.

The La Salle Debate Society wishes its contingent and the rest of the Philippine debate contingent the absolute best as they compete at the United Asian Debating Championship 2026 in Bali, Indonesia, happening from June 1–9, 2026!

UADC 2026 is a premier international debating tournament in the Asian Parliamentary format. LSDS is sending a powerhouse delegation of debaters and adjudicators to go head-to-head with the finest minds across Asia.

The La Salle Debate Society congratulates its contingent for their performance at the Philippine Debate Open, held last May 23-25, 2026.

⚖️ Mezen Lababidi broke as an adjudicator and was an Open Semifinals Panelist while being awarded the Overall Best Judge of the tournament.

⚖️ Theo Trajano broke as an adjudicator and served as the Open Grand Finals Chair while being awarded the 3rd Best Judge of the tournament.

La Salle Debate Society also commends the rest of the contingent for their hard work and dedication!

ESL Champion in WUDC 2016 and twice Best Speaker of the Philippines, she led the La Salle Debate Society through a period of steady growth and afterwards served the community as Chair of the Philippine Debate Union. Her warmth and friendly demeanor is marked by steady principles and an unyielding commitment to accountability, making her one of the finest examples of that Lasallian tradition of winning with honor and making the game beautiful. Outside of her professional engagements, she spends her time raising the next generation of Lasallian debaters together with her former debate teammates— including that former partner she will marry later this year.”
