Founded in 1922 as the La Salle Forensics Team, the La Salle Debate Society is one of the oldest and most reputable debating institutions in the world. It has hosted and participated in numerous national and international tournaments, continuously achieving and acquiring awards for the university and the Society. It aims to foster growth among its members, raising them with the philosophy of what

it means to win with honor and to make the game beautiful. It envisions a world where everyone can engage in intellectual discourse and gives them a platform to speak up. La Salle Debate Society has two main flagship events each year, the Lasallian Interschool Training, a debate workshop and seminar for high school students, and the National Asians High School Debate Championship, the country's national Asian Parliamentary debate tournament for high school students.

The La Salle Debate Society congratulates its contingent on their stellar performance at the Asian British Parliamentary Debating Championship 2026!

De La Salle University proudly represented the Philippines as the last Filipino teams standing in both the Grand Finals and the Semifinals! This year marks a historic milestone for the society. For the very first time in DLSU history, two teams made deep runs into the Semifinals, with one advancing all the way to the championship round.

🏅 Vivienne Tai Chan and Kara Porciuncula debated skillfully in the Open Grand Finals.

🏅 Lorine David and Annika Chua proudly reached the Open Semifinals.

⚖️ Mezen Lababidi broke as an adjudicator and was an EFL Finals and Semifinals Panelist.

La Salle Debate Society also commends the rest of the contingent for their hard work and dedication!

🏆 FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, the De La Salle University is in the Grand Finals of the Hanoi Asian British Parliamentary Debate Championship held in Vietnam! 🏆

ABP is the Asian Championship in the British Parliamentary format, and it gathered various institutions around Asia.

We wish our debaters, Vivienne Naomi Tai Chan and Kara Elise Porciuncula, the best of luck as they debate against IGNOU W, NUS A, and NUS B!

LSDS advances to the next round in ABP 2026!

The La Salle Debate Society congratulates its contingent on their stellar performance during the preliminary rounds of the Asian British Parliamentary Debating Championship 2026.

🏅 DLSU B (Kara Porciuncula and Vivienne Tai Chan) breaks as the 5th Breaking Team of Asia.

🏅 DLSU A (Annika Chua and Lorine David) breaks as the 19th Breaking Team of Asia.

⚖️ Mezen Lababidi proudly breaks as an adjudicator.

We wish the best of luck to the contingent in the elimination rounds of ABP! We also commend the other breaking debaters and adjudicators for their outstanding performances during the tournament.

The La Salle Debate Society congratulates its contingent for their performance at the Fourth Bench Online International British Parliamentary Debates, held last July 31 - August 2, 2026.

🏆 Lorine David and Annika Chua were hailed as Grand Champions and were both awarded 2nd Best Open Speaker, with Lorine also the title of Finals Best Speaker!

La Salle Debate Society also commends the rest of the contingent for their hard work and dedication!
