The Guidance Peer Facilitatorโs Circle (PFC) was introduced in Adamson University in the 1980โs by then Guidance Director Dr. Concepcion C. Its organization was primarily aimed at bridging the gap between counselors and students. As studies showed that when individuals are with their peers they can relate more easily and thus, feel more comfortable opening up. Immediately thereafter, PFC members w
ho were organized in the College and the Basic Education department have undergone series of trainings for capacity building and initiated activities and outreach programs. The PFC program continued under the aegis Rev. Cecille Dagoob who took over as Guidance Directors. When Ms. Rosario B. Santos was appointed Guidance Director, she instituted an operational PFC manual which suggested that members need to go through three (3) phases of training before they become full-fledged PFC members. A pinning ceremony recognize and welcome the new members culminated the reception of PFC members. During this time, PFC saw the active participation of its members in fora, seminars and film showing activities, spiritual activities such as retreat/recollections, CEAP- NCR PFC activities/trainings, fund raising activities, Team building activities, Annual outreach programs and assignation of PFC members in different guidance offices in the university. Upon the determination of Ms. Santosโ services, PFC program were continued by Dr. Paulino Galvez and Dr. Lizelle E. Villanueva. In August 2015, The revival of the PFC is engendered by the assumption into office of Mr. Richmond S. Yap, RGC,RPm,MA, a registered guidance counselor who strongly believes in the influence and impart of peer counseling program to the lives of students.
