The team name is rooted in the Tagalog language where Maharlika literally means “warrior class" as its founders envisioned the team to be an organization comprised of dignified and capable athletes who excel not just in the sport of Dragon Boat Paddling but also in other life aspects as well. As with all teams, Maharlika Drakon aspires to be an ELITE team composed of dynamic recreational and competitive paddlers who espouse the values of Equality, Leadership, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence. Given these ideals, the team and its members aim to constantly personify what Maharlika stands for. We gladly welcome those who are interested in trying out the sport.
