Two years ago, Ara Chong took a chance on an idea she couldn’t quite explain yet.

A Political Science major with no business background, Pilates was simply something she did alongside the gym until it became something more.

The question was simple: why should quality Pilates require a long commute?

So The Reformation Club began with five Reformers, one Cadillac, one Ladder Barrel, and two Wunda Chairs.

Two years later, TRC has grown beyond the Reformer with Wunda Chair, spinning, yoga, infrared heated classes, and now TRC Education, bringing STOTT PILATES®️ education to the Philippines.

Some called Pilates a fad. Perhaps it was of its time. But some things aren’t meant to be trends. They’re meant to evolve.

Today, TRC is still learning, still moving, and still building with a Crew that has grown alongside it.

Two years in, the vision is bigger than a studio: movement, education, community, and a new conversation around Pilates in the Philippines.

Ahead of the Merrithew® (Merrithew® | STOTT PILATES®) Mindful Movement Symposium in Shanghai, September 11–13, Gwen (Gwen | Pilates & Travel), Asia Pacific Education Team Lead, and Jeff (Jeff), who handles Merrithew® distributorship in the Asia Pacific, made a courtesy visit to The Reformation Club.

Facilitated by Miss Rizza of Spotfit Inc., Merrithew®’s official distributor in the Philippines, the visit offered a moment to connect and exchange perspectives on the evolving Pilates landscape in the region.

The timing feels especially fitting as The Reformation Club prepares to welcome upcoming STOTT PILATES® courses through The Reformation Club Education (TRC Education | STOTT PILATES® Academy Partner). Another step in our commitment to bringing quality, internationally recognised Pilates education to more instructors and practitioners in the Philippines, while continuing to raise the standard of education within the local Pilates community.
