📌 CEV MAKES MAJOR ADJUSTMENT TO EUROPEAN PLAYOFF FORMAT! 🇪🇺🏐

The European Volleyball Federation has officially updated the rules for the knockout stages of European competitions — and this changes EVERYTHING! ⚖️

✅ NEW SYSTEM:

• You must win one match to stay in the series.

• If each team wins one match (no matter what the score is: 3-0, 3-1, or 3-2), the winner is decided by a GOLDEN SET! 🎯

• Even a dominant 3-0 win in the first match means NOTHING if you lose the second one — it still goes to a decisive set!

🔙 OLD SYSTEM:

• Winning the first match 3-0 or 3-1 gave you a huge advantage: you only needed to win 2 sets in the return match to advance.

• This often made the second match less exciting, with teams resting key players once they felt safe. 😴

🎯 WHY CHANGE?
To keep every match intense, competitive until the very last point, and make the whole tournament more balanced and spectacular for fans! 🔥👏

After two years apart, legendary setter Maja Ognjenović speaks openly about returning to play alongside superstar Tijana Bošković in the Serbian national team, sharing her immense admiration and her own endless passion for the game.

“After so many years, I still cannot find the right words to describe the sporting greatness of Tijana. In Turkey, we played together for many years at Eczacıbaşı and also in the national team. I think this time it will be a much more mature period. Tijana reached the top a long time ago, but this last season she definitely proved that once again.

I too am in a very mature phase of my volleyball life. Over the last two years, I have learned a lot, many things have changed. But what does not change is my love for volleyball and the joy I feel in playing; that never diminishes and never will change.

Gabi has landed in Saquarema and joined her teammates! 🛬🥹 Now the whole group is finally together, training hard and getting ready for the first big challenge of the season.
