It took me 5 years to find ways to change perspective when fending off a panic attack – if you are struggling with this too, BBK has a solution for you:
Breathe — deep breaths helps the rational part of your mind catch up with your emotions
Observe — notice your surroundings. Who is with you? What is near you? There can be a person or resource that can help you.
Remember — have a memory in your mind when you were once in doubt, but you remembered that you are loved and capable. Allow that memory to remind you that this moment is just, in fact, a moment and it will pass
Act — have the confidence that God (or whatever it is you believe in) will not abandon you.
Through practice and supportive family and friends, these 4 steps have helped me stay calm and grounded in the midst of a panic attack.
I hope they help you too.
Love you,
Coach K
