Last week, our Hydrakids went to a good swimming training sesh on the last day of the long weekend. The perfect day to maximize time for a good and long swim training!

But do you ever wonder what a swim team “activation” looks like? Well, think… stretch cord, yoga mats and extreme… focus!

Before our Hydrakids wet their toes, it is important to use stretch cords to replicate the catch and pull phrases of our stroke. This dryland routine is crucial as it

• Wakes up the nervous system (We don’t just activate the body, swimmers need to activate their mind to endure the hard training **especially on a Holiday✌️✌️😜)
• Engages the core and shoulders
• Lessen the possibilities of incurring injuries

Remember the work we put in on land... makes all the difference in the water!

Today, we honor the heroes who fought with courage, made sacrifices, and helped shape the nation we have today.

But heroes aren't only found in history books. We also recognize the unsung heroes among us- those who extend a helping hand to families who have suffered loss and hardship from the floods, and the everyday heroes we often encounter without even realizing it: our security guards, PUV drivers, nurses, teachers, delivery riders, volunteers, and countless others who continue to serve and care for others every day.

And just like these everyday heroes, we see our own heroes in the pool.. swimmers who show up for every training session, push through challenging sets, encourage their teammates, and keep going even when the race gets tough.

Because being a hero isn't always about doing something extraordinary. Sometimes, it's simply having the courage to help, the strength to persevere, and the heart to keep moving forward.. one stroke at a time.

To our national heroes, our unsung heroes, and all the everyday heroes who make a difference in ways big and small, thank you!

Happy 40th Birthday to our dear Coach Rommel! Thank you for building our team with so much patience and heart, for making sure the kids learn from you even outside the pool, for shaping them as good people, not just good swimmers. We appreciate you and we love you, Coach!

Last Saturday, our Hydras took on another swim competition at Alvarez Swim Team's 5th Inter-Coach Swim Challenge with determination and heart. 🏊‍♀️💙

Though we may be a small team, our swimmers delivered big performances and proudly came home with several new Personal Best Times (PBs). Every PB is a victory, and every race is proof that hard work pays off.

We're incredibly proud of you, Hydras! Keep making waves. 🐉🌊🔥
