Fun & Sun Dive and Travel has currently four (4) different Dive Centers located in Mactan/Cebu (Punta Engano), Malapascua Island (Bounty Beach), Coron/Palawan and Dauin/Dumaguete. Quezon Avenue in Mandaue City

We offer daily fun dives trips for certified divers, Dive Safaris (3-15 days), Diving Courses from Open Water to Dive Master level. With a fleet of well maintained and well designed banka boats, snorkel and island hopping trips are also proposed to our guests

🧠 Around 500 million neurons make octopuses one of the ocean’s most intelligent animals. Nearly two-thirds are in their arms, allowing them to explore and solve problems in remarkable ways.

🎨 They can change both colour and skin texture in the blink of an eye for camouflage, communication and hunting.

🦴 With no bones, they can squeeze through any opening larger than their beak—the only hard part of their body.

💙 They can recognize individual humans, solve puzzles, use tools and remember solutions.

What a special experience this has been 🦈✨

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming an amazing team from the Centro Studi Squali / Sharks Study Center Rome, who spent five days with us taking a closer look at Malapascua’s incredible thresher sharks from a scientific perspective.

As these animals are such a central part of our daily work and life, it was really interesting to exchange observations and perspectives, and to gain additional insights into these remarkable sharks from a dedicated research point of view.

Beyond the dives, the evenings spent together — with presentations, discussions, and shared stories — made the experience even more meaningful. A great reminder of how much there still is to learn and discover about them.

We’re very grateful for the time shared and truly appreciate the passion and dedication this wonderful group brought with them 💙

We hope our paths cross again someday — preferably underwater 🌊

Some days at Kimud Shoal just feel unreal… and today was definitely one of them. 🦈✨

May already brings some of the best diving conditions in Malapascua — calm seas, crystal clear visibility and amazing shark encounters. But today was on another level.

Multiple thresher sharks, super close passes and pure underwater magic. 💙

Watching these graceful animals glide through the blue is something every diver should experience at least once in their life.

Thresher sharks are some of the most unique sharks in the ocean — from their incredible tail hunting technique to their deep-sea lifestyle.

Most of the time, they live hundreds of meters below the surface. But here in Malapascua, they rise into shallow water every morning to visit cleaning stations — making this one of the most special places in the world to encounter them.

Despite their size, they are shy, harmless to humans, and sadly endangered due to overfishing and bycatch ⚠️

Every encounter with these animals is a privilege — and another reason to protect them 💙

About 10 days ago… this happened 🦈✨

Kimud is famous for its Thresher Sharks—but every now and then, the ocean surprises us. From around Jan to Apr, when the water gets cooler, there’s always a chance to encounter something extra out in the blue…

We don’t go there for hammerheads—but sometimes, they show up as a bonus after an already incredible dive. And moments like this? They make it unforgettable.
