They say football isn’t for Filipinos… Ivan Oberiano’s masterclass yesterday in first match of the third edition of the Montet Challenge Series proved them wrong.

But what makes this performance even more impressive is who he is.

A former international player for the Philippines, he brought experience, calmness, and authority to the game from the very first minute.

And in a squad full of quality with players coming from different countries and professional backgrounds he still managed to stand out and impress teammates who are not easily impressed.

That says a lot.

On the pitch, he didn’t just control the game with intelligence and composure… he also scored two exceptional goals, finished with a surprising ease that left everyone watching impressed. Two moments of pure quality in a dominant team performance from the blues of Manila Montet.

Beyond the goals, he dictated the rhythm, created control, and constantly raised the level of those around him.
