MAKATI AIKIDO CLUB CONDUCTS 5TH KYU GRADING EXAM FOR NSA CADET SCHOLARS IN BATANGAS

BATANGAS, Philippines — The Makati Aikido Club successfully conducted an Aikido 5th Kyu grading examination on May 29, 2026, at the Lyceum International Maritime Academy (LIMA) in Batangas.

The evaluation was held for the maritime cadet scholars of the Norwegian Shipowner's Association (NSA). Demonstrating the required technical proficiency, focus, and physical discipline of the rank, all participating cadets successfully passed the examination. The integration of Aikido training into the scholars' curriculum supports their overall physical readiness and situational awareness as future maritime professionals.

Note: The Makati Aikido Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the practice of Aikido. We are a member of the Filipino Federation of Aikido, the national governing body for the martial art. Through this affiliation, our club is officially recognized by the Aikikai Foundation in Japan.

We have four different Senseis at Makati Aikido Club representing four distinct approaches to the exact same traditional foundation:
* The Magician: Violates the laws of optics.
* The Mathematician: Pure, calculated geometry.
* The Minimalist: Total, infuriating conservation of energy.
* The Geophysicist: Uses your body to prove that the floor is an immovable object with infinite mass and a 1,000-0 record against human vertebrae.

The catch? We’re probably wrong about the categories. On any given night, you’ll likely face a chaotic superposition of all four—leaving you trying to calculate the trajectory of your own fall while wondering how you just became a kinetic projectile.

We won't tell you who is who (mostly because we’re still trying to survive the math). You’ll just have to step onto the mat and test the acceleration of gravity for yourself. Come catch a class, meet the crew, and see which combination of forces clicks with you—we promise to teach you how to dissipate kinetic energy beforethe floor claims its next victory!
