The BDA Tiggers outlasted King Living 44-38 in a defensive grind where neither team shot above 31% (30% for the Tiggers, 31% for King Living), so the game turned on the free throw line and the glass. The Tiggers got to the stripe 33 times to King Living’s 12 and made 18, which meant 41% of their points came from free throws, and they won the rebounding battle 35-26 with 28 defensive boards. King Living actually outscored them 33-26 on field goals, but they committed 22 team fouls to the Tiggers’ 9 and made just 5 of 12 free throws, which handed BDA a 13-point edge at the line. Lasig M. led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, going 6-for-9 at the line, while Duma J. added 9 points on 5-for-8 free throw shooting without committing a foul, and Francisco A. chipped in 7 points. The Tiggers were far from clean, though: they dished out only 2 assists on 12 made baskets, shot 2-for-12 from three, and missed 15 free throws (18-for-33), with Duma and Ang M. combining to go 0-for-7 from deep. King Living showed plenty of life on defense, forcing 11 steals (Escano I. had 4 and Española M. had 3) and moving the ball well with 10 assists. Española filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and the game’s only block, and Gibaga J. led the team with 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting without a foul. But six players finished with 3 fouls, De Leom M. went 0-for-7 from the field, and the team shot 3-for-16 from three, so the foul trouble and the cold shooting were too much to overcome.

The Sonics beat Axi Edge 67-59 on the strength of efficient shooting, balanced depth, and a dominant night from Panganiban A., who scored 32 points on 15-for-21 shooting (71%), nearly half his team’s total, without committing a single foul. As a team, the Sonics shot 58% from the field (29-50) against Axi Edge’s 43% (23-53), and they controlled the glass with 21 defensive rebounds and a 27-24 edge in total rebounds. Eusebio E. anchored the paint with 10 rebounds and the game’s only 2 blocks, even while shooting 2-for-10, and Sison S. and Yu B. supplied all 4 of the Sonics’ three-pointers as nine players contributed. Axi Edge showed plenty of fight with just five players, led by Lumanlan C.’s 20 points, Roperos I.’s 18 points and 8 rebounds, Sibug C.’s 14 points and 3 steals, and Vergara E.’s 10 boards, but the long-range game let them down. They hit only 5 of 22 threes (23%), shot 8-for-16 at the line, and got all 59 points from four scorers. The Sonics weren’t perfect either, going just 5-for-12 from the free-throw line and committing 13 fouls to Axi Edge’s 7, with Sison finishing on five. Still, their 58% shooting on two-pointers and their rebounding and shot-blocking edge were enough to hold off a hard-charging Axi Edge squad.
