On behalf of the Mabini football Club , I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support Mayor Emerson Luego in the 1st Mabini United Football Christmas League.

This league has not only showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship but also fostered camaraderie among our young and adult players, strengthening bonds within our community. The teamwork, discipline, and passion displayed throughout the games serve as an inspiration to us all and reflect the true spirit of Mabini.

Together, we have laid the foundation for a stronger, more united Mabini. This is just the beginning of greater things for our community.

As I remember it was a decade ago that football/soccer was being held here in our Municipality were other teams from different Municipalities came here to compete. It was during my grade school (2000-2007), to be specific. The Mabini Central Elementary School grounds hosted intramural sports, district competitions, and even the Regional PFF, when ATENEO de DAVAO and MACO COMPESTELA VALLEY PROVINCE (COMVAL) engaged in combat (if I’m not mistaken).

During those days’ football/soccer was very popular. As I recall, we practiced and competed every afternoon after school hours to represent our beloved Municipality of Mabini in all football competitions against teams from throughout Mindanao. The commitment to training every afternoon and representing Mabini in tournaments across Mindanao have been both challenging and rewarding. As I was typing this letter to share, nostalgia started to set in.

It's just unfortunate that the sport has gradually declined in popularity over the years due to various factors such as changing interests, the rise of other sports, and possibly a lack of continued support and development for football programs.

But now it's wonderful to see that the new generation of kids is enjoying and embracing football once again. The teamwork they showed, the camaraderie, sportsmanship, the happiness and eagerness to win is what make this sport truly special. Bringing back the sport could not only provide a healthy and enjoyable activity for children and youth but also rekindle a sense of community and pride.

Nag hatag usab kini ug dungag kabibo sa 71st Araw ng Mabini. Daghan kaayog dayo not only from different Municipalities of Davao de Oro but from other cities also, e.g. Tagum and Panabo City.

Maong salamat kaayo sa mga taong nagpaluyo ani nga activity. Dako kayng tabang sa mga kabatan-onan ni ilabi na sa karon nga panahon puro cellphone nalang halos ginaatubang. Isa kini ka pamaagi nga ma develop ilang social skills, disiplina, perserverance ug work ethics. Pinaagi usab niini mahimong mahilayo sila sa mga ginadili nga buhat or bisyo.

Maong Mayor MM LUEGO Emerson Luego and staff salamat kayo sa support. We truly appreciate your collaboration and engagement. And we are hoping na unta magkanunay na ni.
