Empowering Youth and Building a Better Community: Sangguniang Kabataan ng Maatas
The proactive community of Brgy. Maatas, Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands, where the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) is taking the lead in fostering youth empowerment and community development. Our dedicated youth leaders have been tirelessly working towards creating a positive impact through various engaging activities.

Information Dissemination Campaign (December 27, 2023):
The SK of Maatas believes in the power of knowledge, and to empower the youth, they organized an Information Dissemination Campaign. The campaign focused on two crucial topics: the Antibullying Act of 2013 and the No Minors Driving Motor Vehicles Policy. By spreading awareness about these issues, the SK aims to create a safer and more responsible community.
Basketball Tournament: Midget and Senior Category (December 27 to 30, 2023): Sports bring people together, and the SK of Maatas recognizes this. They organized a spirited Basketball Tournament, featuring both Midget and Senior categories. This event not only showcased the athletic talents of the youth but also promoted teamwork, camaraderie, and a healthy lifestyle.
SK Night and a Raffle for Youth (December 2023): To celebrate the achievements and talents of the youth of Barangay Maatas, SK hosted an exciting SK Night. The highlight of the evening was to acknowledge the efforts of every individual in the barangay and the unity of every youth, a raffle draw was extended providing an opportunity for young individuals to win exciting prizes. This event not only brought joy but also strengthened the bond among the youth in the community.
Pulot Kalat Activity (January 2024): Promoting cleanliness and unity among the youth is a priority for the SK of Maatas. The Pulot Kalat activity, held recently, aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility for the environment. By cleaning up the community together, the youth actively demonstrated their commitment to maintaining a clean and beautiful living space.
All these activities took place in the heart of our community, Brgy. Maatas. The support and active participation of the residents, especially the youth, have been instrumental in the success of these events.
The Sangguniang Kabataan ng Maatas is committed to continuing its efforts in creating a nurturing environment for the youth, promoting community engagement, and contributing to the overall development of Brgy. Maatas.
