🌊 珊瑚復育不只要種，更需要持續守護！
今天，我們在渡假村前方海域進行了一次棘冠海星巡查與移除行動。
棘冠海星（Crown-of-Thorns Starfish, COTS）原本就是珊瑚礁生態系的一員，但當數量大量增加時，牠們對珊瑚的攝食速度可能超過珊瑚自然恢復的能力，進而對整片珊瑚礁造成相當大的壓力。
原先我們預估今天大約會發現 100 隻，沒想到在約 3 公頃的搜尋範圍、5 小時的作業時間左右，團隊一共捕捉並移除了 243 隻！
這個數字遠遠超過原先預期，也讓我們意識到：至少在渡假村眼前的這片海，棘冠海星的數量已經是一個需要認真關注的警訊。
為了讓正在進行的珊瑚復育真正有機會長久，我們不能只把珊瑚種下去，更需要持續照顧牠們生存的環境。
因此，接下來我們也會將巡查逐步常態化，持續觀察棘冠海星數量與珊瑚礁的變化。

🌊 Coral Restoration Is Not Just About Planting — It’s About Protecting
Today, our team conducted a Crown-of-Thorns Starfish (COTS) survey and removal operation in the waters directly in front of our resort.
COTS are a natural part of coral reef ecosystems. However, when their population increases significantly, their feeding pressure can exceed the reef’s natural ability to recover and place serious stress on coral communities.
We initially expected to find around 100 COTS. Instead, within approximately 3 hectares and five hours of searching, our team removed 243.
The number was far beyond our expectations and sends us a clear warning: at least in the reef directly in front of our resort, the COTS population deserves serious attention.
If we want coral restoration to succeed, planting corals is only the beginning. We also need to continuously protect and monitor the environment where they grow.
Moving forward, we will make reef inspections a regular part of our restoration efforts and continue monitoring changes in both COTS populations and coral reef conditions.
