OFFICIAL STATEMENT

I want to clarify the issues regarding our barangay’s participation in the Mayor’s Cup, specifically in the Midget category of basketball. Due to our limited budget, we were unable to form and support our own team. However, another barangay requested to represent us, and I approved their request to ensure that our barangay still had a presence in the tournament.

I also want to make it clear that the SK did not provide any financial support for the participating team. The team that represented our barangay handled their own expenses, including their uniforms and food. They found their own way to participate without relying on SK funds.

I sincerely apologize for the late information and lack of coordination with my fellow SK officials and council members. I understand that this caused confusion, and I take full responsibility for it. Moving forward, I will ensure that all decisions related to sports participation go through proper consultation with the council.

For those who were expecting to play, I encourage you to participate in our upcoming SK Cup, where we will provide opportunities for local players to compete. Next year, we will make it a priority to form our own team for the Mayor’s Cup so that our barangay will be properly represented.
