IBALONG JUDO CLUB WINS 25 MEDALS AT THE 1st KIWANIS CLUB OF DARAGANG MAGAYON REGIONAL JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP

Legazpi City, Albay – May 30, 2026 — Ibalong Judo Club delivered an outstanding performance at the 1st Kiwanis Club of Daragang Magayon Regional Judo Championship, held on May 30, 2026, at Pacific Mall, Legazpi City, capturing an impressive total of 25 medals and emerging as one of the tournament's top-performing teams.

Competing against talented judokas from various clubs and schools across the Bicol Region, the Ibalong Judo Club athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and determination, earning 5 Gold Medals, 13 Silver Medals, and 7 Bronze Medals.

Leading the medal haul were the club's gold medalists: Safiya Mendina, Cris Manrique, Dexter Mendina, Roel Rosario, and Rommel Imperial, who demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and mastery of judo techniques in their respective divisions.

The silver medal winners were Andrea France Arevalo, Amberlae Grace Secopito, Arabella Grace San Pedro, Mickeila Rayne Jeresano, Sky Peralta, Roland Gresan Darca, Joni Cornelius Garcera, Mikhail Ballaran, Eddie Fernandez, Francis Edward Borromeo, Sebastien Mari Florez, Alexander Barnuevo, and Gilbert Nunez. Their strong performances contributed significantly to the club's overall success.

Meanwhile, the bronze medalists were Denesse Pascual, Roland Neciph Darca, Marco Emmanuel Millena, Lawrence Johnkiel Taronga, Seiya Takagi, Cydrex Nino Siton, and Noli Briones, all of whom displayed remarkable perseverance and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

Organized by the Kiwanis Club of Daragang Magayon, the championship aimed to promote the sport of judo while encouraging discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among young athletes in the Bicol Region. The event attracted participants from various clubs and schools, making the competition both exciting and highly competitive.

Ibalong Judo Club officials expressed their pride in the athletes' achievements, emphasizing that the results were a product of consistent training, dedication, and the unwavering support of parents, coaches, and club supporters.
