When your Salsa video turns into a crazy comedy of errors with Jay Jarana.🎬😆

POV: You prop your phone on a table and tell your lead to stay within the frame. First, he brings you back way too close to the camera🙈😅, then he steers you out of the shot... and our friends accidentally photobomb the lens anyway!🪩

In fairness to Jay, he did what he could to stay in frame. Even with the framing struggle, dancing with Jay is always such a highlight. He is just so "kulit", and I always have the absolute best time sharing the floor with his fun energy!

Just another great learning experience catching these vibes on the social floor.

Happy Father's Day to all the incredible dads, instructors, and mentors in the AfroLatin dance community and beyond!

In dance, as in life, a great father provides the steady beat we lean on. He holds the space, guides the steps, and ensures we never lose our footing on the floor.

Today, we celebrate the fathers who guide us on the floor, who guide us in our lives, and we gently hold space for those dancing in memory of fathers who have passed away (like mine).

Their rhythm, warmth, love, support, and care lives on through us every time we step onto the dance floor and do the things we love.🕺✨❤️

🪑 The raw truth behind this clip: I literally just set my phone down on a chair, hit record, and hoped for the best while dancing with Winson Cheung.

🤦🏼‍♀️ This man walked right into the shot without noticing the phone, so whether our Bachata got captured or not was completely up to chance and how he moved.

Filming Bachata in public spaces means always expecting the unexpected. It’s like a fun game of peek-a-boo watching our dance pop in and out of frame through the gap.
